Hotels in Barri Gotic, Barcelona

The hotel is good value for money, the city center, the subway is easy to go to, all the attractions are convenient, breakfast is good, and even stayed for two days, 5 minutes away there are supermarkets and various eating shops.

Hidden away in a side street in The Gothic area of Barcelona. My partner booked this place for my birthday, so I had no prior expectation of either the hotel or Barcelona. I was a tad apprehensive as the taxi pulled up outside, but very pleasantly surprised with the really nice interior of the hotel. Very nice reception area and fresh decor greeted us. Nicely decorated inside and we were in the second floor becoming onto an inner enclosed quadrant. Not the best of views, but we didn't come for a view from the window. The room itself was clean nice, a small double, but a massive bed. Ensuite bathroom with shower, again, nice and clean with toiletries supplied. Nice friendly staff. A little noisy at night as I think our room overlooked the staff area. Or body neighbours perhaps. But all in all, a really nice hotel close to everything. A great time to come to Barcelona. Warm sunshine in the high teens and not crowded at all. Had some great walks around the lanes and sights to be seen.

Great location just a few steps away from La Rablas and Liceu metro station which can connect you to almost anywhere you need to go in Barcelona. Downside to this is that it can be quite loud during the night which could be an issue with light sleepers. All the receptionists we spoke to were very friendly and spoke good English. The rooms were tidied every day too.

Stayed for four nights here and it is in a great location in the Gothic quarter, about a 3 minute walk to the Cathedral, 3 mins walk to the nearest metro which is Juame 1 and also about a 5 min walk to the begining of the El Born district. Hotel reception staff are friendly, staffed around the clock and the whole hotel was really clean, no problems at all. I had a room on the fourth floor which was clean, spacious and really quiet despite the hotel being in a busy and vibrant location. Lots of nice places to eat around the area and I would recommend Bosco a few minutes walk away... For me one of the best areas is El Born for food and drink. If you walk 5 mins to Hotel H10 Montcada on Via Laietana and then go down the side street right next to the hotel, you will find a really interesting mix and array of eating places and bars to enjoy. Would stay here again.

PROS: Staff was always lovely and attentive. CONS: Beds are too hard. I couldn't properly sleep during the 3 nights we spent there. Also, we booked a superior plus room (which as two twin beds). We were given a superior room which has one bed and the toilet in front of the bed. You can not control the lights separately. One switch turns on and off all lights. There is a second switch but that does nothing. The shower doesn't have a proper drain system, so internal canalization smells come up when shower not in use. We had to put a towel over the drain to avoid this. The hotel looks nice but once inside there are small things that take away from could have been a nice place (aside from the bed being super hard). The breakfast was ok and not worth the price. That said, fruit was fresh and yummy. We didn't use the TV but on our last night, we turned it on and there was no connection. I wouldn't stay again here mainly because of the beds, but if you like sleeping on rocks, give it a try.

Spanish students, the hotel environment is very good, the location is simply great, 1 Jaime I Street, right in the city center, Picasso Museum, Sagrada Familia and the Basse Coast are very convenient, the service is very good, if you are not fluent, Next to the Chinese staff is a big sister, and people are also very good. Although the room is small but clean and tidy, I will stay at this hotel next time I go to Barth.

Its a very nice hotel in the best location in Barri Gothic. Nice breakfast, very entusiastic staff in the reception. Maybe it got a bit to expensive ( value for money) when you are a family and had to book two rooms. The pool on the roaf was of course very cold now in april and a lot of pigeons sat around the pool all the time to drink. They left their dirt in and around the pool. The roafterass was just open from 10.00-20.30 wich was a dissapointment. We wanted to hang out there to see the sunrise and sunset, and maybe take a fresh dip in the pool. Its a VERY loud air conditioner in the bathroom that you cant turn of without turning of the light. In general though a clean, nice hotel with walking distance to everything!

Overall the service was outstanding. Caelis was superb. Check-in staff, bellboys, and concierge went above and beyond to ensure our stay was fantastic. A special recognition for Javier with concierge who was fantastic with answering all of my questions and making dinner reservations. Likewise, I’d like to recognize the fantastic bartender at Monsieur Rouge who made the best Negroni cocktails and was warm and welcoming. This was our first Ohla experience and certainly not our last. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Ok… so we usually stay in 4/5* hotels, but when in Barcelona all you need is a clean room, a nice comfy bed, peace and quiet and a great location! This had it all. Our room had a beautiful Juliet balcony looking out onto La Ramblas where we loved the hustle and bustle of people going by. It really is right in the centre of everything from the port on one side to Pl Catalunya on the other. La Boqueria market was one minute away, Metro right outside. I was really stressing before we arrived after reading some previous reviews and I’m so glad we didn’t change our minds. Our rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and plenty of toiletries provided. The check in was quick and easy and all reception staff so pleasant and friendly. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE STAYING HERE AGAIN. Thank you all.
