I ended up at the Faros Hotel as part of a business trip. I didn't expect anything special from a *** hotel, but the standard and especially the cleanliness were very disappointing. The room was very run down. The equipment was damaged, missing, partially rusted or not working at all. The mattresses were covered with dirt and hair from previous guests under the sheets (not just head hair). The bathroom had a very unpleasant smell from the sewer, there were numerous fungal growths on the ceiling and walls, and the paddling pool and shower cubicle were covered in mold. We asked to change rooms, but the rather indifferent and unfriendly staff turned us away on the grounds that all the rooms were already occupied and asked us to ask the next day. Unfortunately, we were not offered a replacement room until the end of our stay. It was our first time in beautiful Montenegro and we knew that Montenegro, especially on the Adriatic, offers great cuisine. Unfortunately, Pharos disappointed us in this respect too, with poor quality cuisine and a very limited selection. At one point, even regular tea was missing. Fortunately, the nearby promenade full of charming bars and restaurants offers the great Montenegrin cuisine we've heard so much about. We would recommend the town of Bar without hesitation, but not necessarily the Hotel Pharos.
