Saltair Inn Waterfront B&B

We stayed at the Saltair Inn for 2 days. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The entire setting inside and out was perfect. The view is spectacular and you have easy access to the beach so you can walk the sand bar when the tide is down. Bar Harbor has paid parking throughout the city but while staying at Saltair you have off street parking that provides you easy walking access to downtown. Leigh, Kristy and the two Matts were very helpful with everything. The recommendations for restaurants and places to see inside and outside of Acadia were spot on! Our room was comfortable and the breakfasts were decadent!! If you are headed to Bar Harbor book your stay at the Saltair Inn - you won’t be disappointed!!

The Saltair Inn was the perfect warm and inviting place for a relaxing winter's stay away from the chaos of normal life. It is clear that Matt & Kristi's love and care have kept the Inn in pristine condition. I can highly recommend staying here

Stop debating and book Saltair Inn! We stayed here for 4 nights during our “babymoon” and it was all we hoped for! The view of the bay from the inn is fantastic and the hospitality Matt, Kristie, Lee, and Matt provide is wonderful. The breakfast each morning was enough to get us through the first part of our day in Acadia. The location is perfect, such an easy walk to downtown and super quick drive over to Acadia (less than 5 min). I would stay here again and again.

This was, hands-down, our favorite place we stayed during our coastal Maine trip! And it was the most reasonably priced for everything Matt and Kristi offer. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Best view ever!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Saltair Inn, an elegant yet comfortable “cottage” from Bar Harbor’s Golden Age. Owners and Innkeepers Matt and Kristi made you feel like visiting friends. They are very knowledgeable about the area, its history, and the highlights to be seen. Breakfast was fantastic. The set up in the dining room provided the opportunity to socialize with fellow guests, and we enjoyed our conversations with people from different parts of the country. The macaroons and cookies put out in the afternoon were always tasty. Incredible waterfront location. Will definitely return.

My wife and I stayed for two nights on our anniversary trip to Maine. This old historic property is cozy and welcoming. We were in the cottage room…..rather small but comfortable with a nice roomy private bathroom. Breakfast was great and the Innkeepers/owners could not be more friendly and charming. A great experience all around.
