Hotels near Yannawa Canvas in Bangkok

I booked this hotel with the promise of it being something truly unique. It's often listed as among the top 10 budget designer hotels in Bangkok. I've been to Bangkok many times and have stayed in many different places, but it was my girlfriend's first time in the city and so wanted to try something different. I booked this hotel because it seemed to have a bit of character, especially in the unique design of the rooms. However: -while the rooms do indeed have unique design, they are more tacky than anything. The room I stayed in felt like some sort of warped sex dungeon, without proper storage for clothes or even basic amenities one might expect for a room of this price -the service was aloof, not warm or helpful at all (regardless of language barrier). There is reception for limited hours (ostensibly 9am - 9om), but the reception disk was often vacant even during those hours. At one point I had to wait for 20 minutes -they try to nickel and dime guests to death, as confirmed by other reviewers here, for instance charging 400 Baht to clean pillow cases stained by my girlfriend's hair dye (normal bleach would have removed the stain) -NO breakfast is included or even available. There is a cafe but it looks permanently closed. The only option is street food, which might not be suitable for all travellers. -the location is a double-edged sword. It's a VERY local part of Bangkok, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. I think it's a bit nice to escape the Khao Sah / Sukhumvit tourist bubbles and see a bit of what REAL Bangkok is like, but it might not be suitable for first time visitors to the city (there is no restaurants nearby, for example). On the other hand, the BTS and Chao Phraya Express stops are only 600m away. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the accessibility to other parts of the city is actually quite good. In summary, there is an abundance of accommodation choices in Bangkok. At this price point, you can get MUCH better value, even if you might have to join the backpacker hordes in Khao San or Sukhumvit.

The Hotel is very central. The pool is small but sufficient for a quick cooling. The view from the roof garden is spectacular. The rooms are spacious and include a safe, AC, a large fridge, a kettle including coffee or tea and a bathtub (deluxe room). The breakfast is ok, but a bit more comprehensive in other hotels. Not at all okay is that the staff is obviously unwilling to order a regular metered taxi. Either the trip to the airport is offered for a flat rate of 600 baht with a private Car/Tranfer, or, only after repeated requests, a taxi is ordered via Grab-Taxi with a fixed price of - in our case - 350 baht excluding highway fees. When we then insisted on turning on the taximeter, which is also the law in Thailand, we ended up paying 305 baht excluding highway fees. Here the hotel should be able to learn and offer its guests a regular taxi service.

This hotel is Chinese unfriendly hotel. No tissue in toilet. They use water wash...indian like..,i saw many Indian guest.😂no Chopstick in breakfast.no one clean my room in my last day hotel Even i called and went to frontdesk to tell the duty staff. One of the receptionist lady were very tough，raise her voice to me emphasize Normally check in is 2pm as i asked for check in 1330..i know its like you said Normally. But its should a unnormaly sometimes. Not every one is check out 1200. Be Kind and polite! The rest of thing is good!

The first night we checked in at midnight but the front desk staff and the bell boy were alert and very helpful. Check in process was very quick. However, the room has a stuffy smell, probably the room has not been used for quite long and the tapestry has got the smell. The 2nd day was better and we had a good sleep. The surrounding of the hotel is very convenient and we could access to different local stores.

This was my second stay in this hotel and we will go back everything we need to stop over in Bangkok through our backpacking holidays. It is convenient located, not far from the BTS station and the boat pier. Also, the best street food is down the road, as some local restaurants that also provide basic western food. The hotel has a small swimming pool where I love to see the sunset and self laundry facilities. Reception staff and housekeeping are very efficient. The only thing I did not approve was the breakfast selection. Last time we had a decent buffet with many options to choose from. This time the buffet was only extended to bread slices, fruit and beverages, we had to order the hot dishes (like omelette, etc). This leaves no space for quantity selection nor to try smaller portions of local cuisine, for example.

Comfortable check-in. The staff is very attentive. The room is large, clean, the bed is comfortable. Everything is fine. The road to the metro and iconsiam is comfortable

The hotel has a nice presentation, is very clean and ordened as well as furnished with love for the detail. The Skytrain is within a few minutes walk to reach also supermarkets are in the immediate vicinity. We had booked incl. breakfast. For Thai conditions it seems to be a good breakfast, which we had on Phuket, but in no way comparable. There is a cup of tea or coffee. A sweet drink, which is declared as juice and a water. To eat 2 dishes toast, marmelade, 2 lawrence eggs and a dishes sauce as well as 2 sauces. For 2 consecutive days well, a third or fourth I wouldn't have wanted to eat exactly the same always. I wanted to drop my eggs and the sauce on day 2... but English is not well spoken or understood by everyone at the reception. Only Toast and Jam provided me e.g. breakfast only without eggs. However, the biggest criticism is the wet cell. We (my spouse and I) had a double room!!! In this is a cubic-shaped room separated by two half-high walls as a bathroom. A good idea when you insist that all the smells and smells of the toilet spread throughout the room. I find such a feeling in a double room. Also the water pipes of the neighbouring rooms passed through our “bathroom”, so you have heard from the bed the spots all the time when the neighbor has shown or washed. Sometimes it went half night. Once it was also smelled out of the shower, it was also smelling throughout the room. However, three stars for cleanliness and ambience.

Ctrip's map marked the location is not allowed, and I am half an hour in the residential alley. The real position is 50 meters east of the marked point, and it is facing the street, I hope to correct it.

The apartment is equipped with a hair dryer, so you can take care of your hair every day, and the wireless network here is also very fast, don't worry about the problem of bad signal. Not only that, it is also equipped with air-conditioning and TV, and the most important thing is that there is heating inside. Even in winter, you will not feel that the indoor temperature will be cold. Turning on the air-conditioning and heating will increase the entire indoor temperature. , Let yourself have a comfortable traveling environment. And it is also equipped with slippers, so you can simply move in without carrying anything.

While writing this I am staying at the Miloft Sathorn Hotel for 3 more nights. Soon my quarantine is over and I am allowed to go home. Of course, quarantine is never fun, but I certainly haven't had a terrible time here. Compared with other people reviewing Miloft Sathorn I haven't had any problems with the Wifi, it was quite fast and smooth and I used it all day long to work and watch Netflix. The food was not fantastic though, often just a bit warm, sometimes even cold, small portions and not much variation in the menu. But I expected that already, you get what you pay for, so no complaints. You are allowed to order from outside though, e.g. FoodPanda and GrabFood. People complaining about the food during their ASQ stay, should pay 5 times more and stay at the Anantara Riverside for example. Communication with the (friendly) staff is via Line. They always act quickly if you need something, so I am very happy with them. Room is okay, a bit old, but the large balcony really is a big plus. Without balcony I would have gone crazy for sure. Conclusion: if you have to stay in ASQ, but don't want to pay too much, Miloft Sathorn is a great choice. Just don't expect any luxury, don't expect amazing food.
