I wanted to love this place because from the photos - it looks amazing!
There are really nice pros but not enough for me to pay the rather expensive room rate.
PRO-
stunning building, vivid colour- not faded at all so it stands out in the neighborhood!
THE roof is AMAZING! large lounge space fabulous cross breeze. ( rainy season so bar was closed but guests were still allowed to use the space)
This place would make an excellent spot for an event- (just make sure you stay on the 4th or 5th floor so you can walk up to the roof because the elevator can comfortably hold 2 people)
The pottery classes, board games, and lobby space are definite winners!
The jungle room exactly as pictured with strong water pressure in the shower and AC works great. There are cool coloured lighting options in the bedroom
The outdoor tub is much bigger than it looks- can fit three people easily! The pool sits deeper into the balcony so the view from inside the pool gives you city nightlife.
The bed and pillows are very comfortable and there are 3 English movie channels.
NOT FOR ME
Fig Lobby doesn't have a pool. You have to walk from their back parking lot, pass the dumpsters, through an alley to the back of the building, in the back of Fig Lobby to use the pool.
Bit disappointed with the abundance of fake plants in the jungle room- not even the one on the balcony was real.
It is not a real kitchenette because there is no sink, no utensils, no plates, or a plain ol' hot water kettle.
There is a coffee machine and two ridiculously small coffee mugs. The kitchen area shelves are completely empty making them useless in the space. There is no microwave and the fridge space is taken up by the mini bar items. Water provided are refilled glass bottles with new caps
There is no door for the actual toilet area which wouldn't matter if you are alone but offers no privacy if you are with others.
The bar area faces away from the TV so you can't sit there to eat and watch TV. The table in front of the TV is a bit low to comfortably eat from. They definitely need a side table for the living room and the outdoor tub area.
It's odd that you can't access the outdoor tub from the bathroom. Since the tub is so huge, it does take a rather long time to fill up. There are extra towels in the tub area but the tub could use some sort of neck support, a floating table, etc
You can't just walk onto the balcony - you have to step over a ledge and down onto the balcony. The view from the balcony is unimpressive and you are close enough to have conversations with people on the balcony in the next building.
There are sliding doors between each area, however none of them lock. There is a Rotary styled phone by the bed which is too bulky and awkwardly placed.
What tipped the scale for me was the room darkening curtains in the bedroom. the Transparent glass in bathroom door beams with light, contradicting the purpose of room darkening curtains.
Individually these complaints are not deal breakers but each time I found an unfortunate feature, the oversll satisfaction of the place diminished. I would rate it 6 out of 10
