Wonderful quiet oasis in the heart of Bangkok's tourist center. A few rooms/villas nestled in a park-like setting facing the river, Wat Arun right across. The moment the gate shuts behind you, birds replace the sounds of the city and everyone seems to want to make the entire experience nothing but pleasant and relaxing. "Ohm" took fantastic, personal care of us, "Natt" added a very personal touch to the superb dinner experience. The river-view villa was comfortable, the front room an unexpected little haven. A variety of seating outside with views of temples, the river, and at night bats above. Right in the city and yet seemingly so removed. Breakfast was a perfect start for every day and our trip to Thailand, the pool an opportunity to refresh each morning.

The property itself is peaceful and pretty. River view suite was huge, very clean, large comfortable bed. Massive private terrace although the boats can be noisy day and night so sitting on the terrace wasn’t as relaxing as we expected (you can’t hear them from inside the room). No bar and restaurant only provides the special banquet - which was a great experience although expensive - but some excellent restaurants overlooking the river within 4 minutes walk

In 1891, the last Tsar of Russia visited Siam and impressed with the great hospitality provided by the Thai Royal Family. In return Tsar Nicholas II invited Prince Chakrabongse to study in St. Petersburg and stayed in the Palace. Nowadays the legacy is continued at Chakrabongse Palace. As a Royal guesthouse, it offers courteous service. Khun Ohm makes our stay an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience. He helped us to watch the Royal Barge together with the descendants of Prince Chakrabongse. Everyone at the Palace went extra miles to ensure our stay was a memorable one, even before we checked in. Ms. Atom helped me to keep the book about Tsar Nicholas II that I bought online. My biggest regret is only being able to stay for one night because this is a work trip. But for sure if next time I'm having a holiday in Bangkok, I'll come back again to this Palace

The (small) hotel is located alongside the Chao Phraya River, 5 minutes walking from Wat Pho and the Grand Palace An incredible location. Due to Ohm’s initiative, we got a beautiful room near the pool, with a nice garden around. The breakfast by the river was plenty and tasty. A great, great hotel

Chakrabongse Villas is like no place I’ve ever stayed before. It’s essentially a royal mansion / estate that has been partially converted into a small, boutique hotel. If you like hotels that reflect the local culture and character – as opposed to staying at a chain hotel with no personality – then this is definitely the hotel for you. The incredible attention to detail in the rooms and the grounds; the amazing view across the river to Wat Arun; the authentic local cuisines they serve; a refreshing dip in the pool at the end of a hot day; the central location with easy access to the MRT, Boat Transit, and Sightseeing – My wife and I left feeling fortunate that we had the opportunity to stay here while on vacation in Bangkok. It was an experience we will never forget. Highly recommended.

If you want a big breakfast buffet with smoked salmon, don't come. And if you're looking for glittering posh glass and chrome, don't come either. Are you looking for a hotel near the palace and Wat Arun? Near museums and clong rides? Do you want as much peace, space and privacy as possible? Dinner by the river? Been woken up by the birds? Breakfast served on your veranda? A pool most likely just for yourself? A very warm and personalised service, than this is the outstanding hotel. Hospitality as its best.
