Royal Rattanakosin Hotel

We stayed at the old wing and there is the renovated new wing. Room was acceptable with all amenities. Location was near the Grand Palace, National Museum and walking distance to Khao San. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Don’t trust this hotel. The pictures are not representative. The hotel is super gross. We had ants in the room. We asked the service to remove them but it didn’t help. Avoid this hotel.

May I inform you my disappointment over your night shift desk staff with his attitude. I just came back to the hotel from dinner cruise when i approached HIM “politely” on when does the souvenir shop in front of the info desk opens. He “inattentively” replied -“afternoon” without even looking. Then I just repeatedly asked “like around what time?” (Coz our flight will be the following day which is 30th) . Then here comes Him, looked at me with grim and stern face which indicates unhappiness and said” I said afternoon!, don't know what time , it’s afternoon!” ( with his voice raised). I was really shocked and dismay with his response but mostly with the attitude HE gave me because that was the very first time I encountered a very rude Thai citizen. Despite my tiredness from the whole day trip I still calmly replied, “I was just asking, but why do you respond to your guest like that? what is your name?”, and instead of calming down, he replied again - “ i already said afternoon!”it’s a separate store not from the hotel!”. Then I just turn away and went up to our room as I am already lacking of energy. But while inside the elevator, in my mind was how other Thai locals treated us with our whole trip in Thailand, they were so sweet, so humble and so respectful, a beautiful country with beautiful people indeed. But there was this “Male” Hotel staff from “hospitality field of profession”, ruined my day, my day that started with full of fun and gratefulness, I ended up in our room feeling with a heavy heart, like there is this stone that was buried deep, i was so disappointed and sad. In our first day of stay, our family already noticed the hotel and it’s facility is notably outdated, the corridors has moldy smell most probably from the old carpeted floor and also the AC doesn't cool enough, but we thought it was normal as the hotel was really old( we read the history from the hotel corridor) and the thai people seems really nice and accommodating from the airport staff to the taxi driver who send us to the hotel. But as I was writing this email, all prepared for my sleep, as we tried to switch the lights off, the buttons are also not working, but I don’t want to call the reception with the Male Staff again. And I remember, early in the morning before we proceed for breakfast, there is also a caucasian man complaining about his room and the AC too. And i have to add, the housekeeping didn’t even mind to clean the room, they just empty the bin. I wish that my letter will reach the hotel management and I would like to receive a response letter from the hotel specially with regards to the Male staff that was very rude. I wish you to review the cctv footage on that day and time so you will witness the rudeness of the staff. I hope that customers concern will be given a proper actions, because honestly speaking, the hotel has still a lot of potential as it is proximal to tourist attractions.

It was great staying at the hotel! I will tell my friends about it and we will surely be back!

We were happy to stay in the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel. It's an old building, that's why it has that distinguished smell in the elevator, but other than that, we have no other comment. The rooms are clean and staff are very accommodating and friendly from the reception to the chambermaid. I recommend this hotel. 4 stars 🌟.

the hotel was great and the staf also helpful! and the location is closed to wat arun, wat pho, and grand palace.
