Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa

A good place to stay while exploring Desaru and we enjoyed so much for the Lazy River in Splash Water.

Room is old classic style but a major renovation is required. Saw a monkey in our block D entrance area, then there is a big insect lying on the living room curtain after we check in. I got bitten by the insect when try to catch it and my finger start to get painful, the housekeeping staff saw it and immediately call medical team to come and apply some cream on the scar, and the staff told me if it get worse later, he will call reception and arrange transport for me to visit a clinic, which is responsible manner from the hotel. I personally appreciate it. The good side is the hotel own a huge space which contain a good mix of facilities, even there is a mini zoo near the reception. We kind of like the mini zoo as it’s the first time my daughter saw a goose and parrot. The seafood restaurant serves decent seafood and other dishes. Of course it’s a bit pricey comparing outside. What we don’t like is the lift location which not every block entrance comes with a lift, only certain location which you need to explore on the map. The floor is confusing also depend on which loft you use, as the ground is not even which will makes your room level differ between different lift. I mean it is my first time encounter such scenario. A bit special. Somehow the hotel room layout remind of my university hostel. Overall it’s a ok stay for our families.

-Room given with a leaking refrigerator. -The floor was wet -Asked to change room must wait for more than 30mins -The Hskp staff showed us room with pool view but front desk said need to top up -We need to pay for the hotel mistake? -Asked for manager but never call back. -I had to walk to Front Desk to complain then they finally changed

The room is not very clean, the floor a bit dusty. But we arrived early around 12pm and the front desk allowed us to check in despite their check-in time of 3pm, this is greatly helpful to us travelling with a toddler and a baby.

Reasonable stay if you are not fussy about the room and breakfast. Have all the basic amenities for your stay there.

Everything was ok except the bbq pit was expensive. We don't know we must book the pit at the coffee house as there are no signage. But when we bbq halfway, then the security came over said we must book the pit. When i went over to book, then i was shocked the bbq pit was more expensive than the room, but the package came with 1 ice cube box with ice cube, few soda drinks and mineral water and Chilli source.
