What a perfect location to explore the English countryside! The room was comfortable and quaint, the food was SO good, and the staff, oh so friendly, professional, and very helpful. Kirstie (sp) and her crew were incredibly nice. We could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you all for making our first visit a very memorable one.

We stayed here for just under 2 weeks visiting the area for a family funeral. Dan, Katie and the team were fantastic and brought a smile to our faces each day. The rooms, breakfast and customer service were all 5/5. We changed rooms half way through our stay for disability access and our bags were moved for us which was very helpful. Comfortable clean rooms which aided in a good night sleep after a busy day. A beautiful breakfast with a fresh selection of pastries and fruit each morning. Free on-site parking which does get busy. Would not hesitate to recommend The Red Lion Adderbury to friends and family. We will definitely be back. Thanks guys.

We rang up a few days before hoping the red lion could fit us in as we were a table of 12, luckily they could. Our table was lovely, all food we pre ordered was correct, delicious and piping hot! It was also ready so quickly as we arrived early and they only had one chef, so he did brilliantly!! Everyone loved the pub and we were so happy as it was a lovely family meet up. Couldn't have wished for anything else! Thank you to all the staff

We had such an enjoyable lunch on Christmas Eve. The food was exquisite, I had the haddock fish cakes which were delicious and my mum had fish and chips. the staff are always so friendly and helpful and we had our regular table which is perfect. This has become our favourite restaurant because it ticks all of the boxes on value, service and quality of food. We love going there and it never fails to disappoint. Thanks so much to all of the team there, you’re all fab. Kristy x

Stayed for one night and myself and family member found everything to be great (just the beds were too hard). We had a very warm welcome from Daniel, our suitcases were taken upstairs for us by one of the staff. The room was lovely, very clean and it was nice and quiet. The stairs are not really suitable for people who may have a greater degree of mobility issues, but its a very old building. We had our evening meal and the food was lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The building is in a lovely village, locals were very friendly. We went for a walk around Adderbury Lakes which is to the left as you walk out of the front. Daniel kindly gave us directions. The breakfast choice was very good and staff brought our suitcases down for us. Overall, a very enjoyable stay at the Red Lion. Highly recommend it.

Great country pub. Excellent breakfasts. Friendly, helpful staff. Not the place to stay if infirm and unable to manage stairs. Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable (room 10), although 2 sets of spiral stairs to negotiate. Well situated in heart of village.

While I found the food to be excellent and the staff friendly I found that the room the I stayed in was extremely noisy room number 6. There is an air conditioner/ refrigeration unit right out side the window on the roof that came on quite early in the morning. With the window shut I could have just about coped with the constant drone. But unfortunately that was not the loudest problem, what I can only assume what was the kitchen door was being slammed repeatedly every time someone entered/exited it was relentless and extremely loud almost to the point that I could feel the vibrations in the bed. Lucky I was so tired from my travels I passed out regardless and I was looking forward to the late check out that was 11am. Unfortunately as soon as the staff arrived to start preparing for breakfast the door slamming commenced and by 8am I was wide awake and after laying the listening to the door slam constantly and the drone from aircon unit for over an hour I gave up and checked out a lot earlier than I had hoped too. The door from the landing was also let slam shut by guests which was right next to the room door. Although that a lot less annoying than constant banging of the kitchen door. For a room that was £100 for the night for one person I find that totality unacceptable . The issue of the door could be easily addressed by a soft close mechanism. There is nothing worse than being woken up by constant banging. It also made it impossible for me to get back to sleep to the point I just wanted to leave.

My recent stay at The Red Lion ticked every box, from our very warm greeting from staff upon arrival and throughout our entire stay. The building is an historic inn which has been tastefully renovated and decorated throughout, our room (room 2) was clean and comfortable with all the mod cons you could ever require. We ate in the restaurant that evening, there was plenty of choice to suit everyone’s taste. Our meal was piping hot and beautifully presented. Again, the waiting staff were genuinely kind and caring. That evening my wife and I went to bed chatting about what a little gem this inn truly was. After a good nights sleep, our breakfast the filling morning was freshly cooked to order. There was plenty of coffee, juices and pastries on offer too. This is hospitality at its very best, so much so, I’ve already booked my return stay. Genuinely well done to you all.
