Balsam Lake Motel

I could go on for ever about how disappointing this place is. -DIrty sponge in kitchen, no thanks! -No soap in kitchen, asking to refill it was a big deal with housekeeping, took 30 minutes to bring it back with some layered, thick concoction. -Filthy bathroom, hair in tub and all over floor. -Most outlets looked hazardous and only a few worked. -Dumpster in parking lot full of rotting fish, smelled like death and flies everywhere. Simply could have scheduled an extra pick up!! -Overall filthy and run down. -No one on site, very difficult to get responses via email, facebook,etc! -Room pictures on website and vrbo are not accurate at all, our room was nothing like photos. They must have added a wall in kitchen after photos were taken making it a different layout and much smaller. -Dead bugs in every window and light fixture. -Nothing is cared for or maintained!! Dead flowers in window boxes, just throw them!! It may seem petty but just goes to show how there is no attention to any detail, big or small. It is not cared for and they do not care about your experience at all.

This is a run down motel that they tried to make visually appealing in pictures with paint and updated fixtures. Let's start with there is no on-site staff. U get an email with a code to get into a bike lock style key box on the wall. The codes we got were wrong. I got 2 rooms, I of the rooms was not cleaned. Dirty towels in the bathroom, beds not made. I called the number and got a less.then helpful lady. I told her we could not get into the lock box. She gave me a different code. It worked when we opened the door and found a dirty room she told me she'd call the made and hung up. 20 mins later I called back to be told the maid was there. No, I'm here waiting she's not. Told to just wait. The walls are paper thin. The pills are the same. Screen doors were ripped off and the door is weathered and falling appart. Comes with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. To use them they have 2 extention cords that have to be put together to plug them in. We have a large wooden box blocking the corner to the bathroom. Shower newer, but scary construction. TV mounted to wall again with extention cords to be plugged in and hanging down off the wall. It is visibly clean, and updated, just don't move anything or look to closely. Stay away! For the price I didn't expect much, however with a cleaning fee and 4pm check in I did expect the rooms to have been cleaned, and the management company to be accommodating when calling, but neither are true.
