I had never been to Ireland before. The experience at this beautiful hotel, Ballynahinch Castle hotel, went beyond the highest of expectations I had of the hospitality of the Irish. Firstly, the hotel itself is just gorgeous, the beauty of nature is ever present, the breakfast was spectacular. But once again without the warmth and care of people, an experience in any hotel is never truly memorable for me. Oh my goodness, the people at this hotel. Bridg, Killian, Nile, Claire, Sharon, Martin, Michael, Roberto, Andre, Luis, Eoghan, Kieran, Louis, Shauna, Morija, Andrea and the others, I have missed. The fact that I took note of these people's names is indicative of the impression these beautiful people made on me. When you stay at this hotel, you feel as if you matter. Thank you to everybody at the Ballynahinch Castle Hotel. I have fallen in love with Ireland and look forward to my return. Kim Krejus (Australia)

This place has it all. We stayed two nights and loved it all. Everyone is very friendly, with their added Irish humor. Our room was extremely comfortable with a fabulous modern bathroom, nespresso maker, USB ports and great view of the trout river. We had three excellent meals in the pub. Enjoyed the property so much that we spent the whole day here, walking the trails and gardens. Great place to relax.

Excellent experience at a beautiful historic setting. Immersed in nature and plentiful activities go hand in hand with luxury accommodations and fine dining. Exceptional staff provide very personalized experiences and great local recommendations. Warm thank you to Roberto, Luis and Eoghan.

WORST seafood chowder & dried up with bread in Ireland! Gloopy Slimey & tasteless with small bits of fish ….very disappointed! The caramelised onion and brie sandwich on process sliced bread with a wilted salad, tasteless . Shame on you presenting such unattractive poor quality dishes in such elegant surroundings…..

Our stay at Ballynahinch Castle in late-April was a highlight of our Ireland trip. The grounds were spectacular and the hotel staff provided service to match! Claire, upon check-in was so efficient and warm, we felt like we were being welcomed home. Kevin in the pub took amazing care of my nut allergy, and made our pub experience special—the food and cocktails were delicious! We are definitely coming back — hopefully soon!

Our visit was part of a 10 day holiday where we have largely been staying in castle hotels. While Ballynhinch had one of the most beautiful settings, pleasant rooms and a good restaurant it was at a price point of many of the 5 star hotels we stayed at but failed to deliver a similar experience. No offer of help to carry our bags to the upstairs room, no turn down service, no advice about activities on arrival. Other 4 star hotels we have visited did not provide such services but they were priced at about two thirds of the price of Ballynhinch. We understand that they are not 5 star but can’t really see anything to justify the difference in price point. The issue that made me feel the most ripped off was being charged 20 plus euros for water at dinner. When we asked for water we imagined both still and sparkling would be free as that had been our experience in every hotel we visited. We would have been happy with tap water if we had known a charge was incurred for bottled water. We had lunched at Ashford Castle the same day and had not been charged for the same brand of bottled water. At 90 euros a head for dinner surely the water should be complementary

We stayed for 2 nights in April 2024 with my 10 year old daughter. I actually planned my entire itinerary around those two nights because we had heard such great things about Ballyhanich. It was well worth it and I cannot wait to go back! It is such a peaceful setting but enough activities around to keep us occupied. We used the complementary bikes to ride around the expansive estate and bike trails, took the many walks, enjoyed feeding the horses and pigs, and also explored Clifden and Connemarra National Park which is closeby. The room was quiet and overlooked the river- extremely comfortable bed and large bathroom with luxurious large bathtub and shower. The breakfast is unbelievably delicious, and we ate in the pub both nights.
