I cannot say enough positive comments about this extraordinary estate. The service was unlike anything I’ve experienced in my 50 years and the grounds and hotel were impeccable. After 8 days of dragging my four kids (10-17) and 2, 80yo grandparents through Ireland, this was just what the doctor ordered to end our trip. I absolutely cannot leave a more positive review. Outstanding. Superb. Excellent. Way Better than Glenlo Abbey that I was looking at (we passed it on our way here- it is in the hustle of Galway and this is in the country) cheers and thank you to all the people who made our few days exceptional.

Dropped in at Ballynahinch Castle today for late lunch in the bar and we were graciously greeted by Killian who got us a table quite fast as it was busy. He also took our beverage order and very soon afterwards we had a lovely lunch served by Ukrainian lady ( apologies forgot name).Food was excellent and lovely presentation we had mussels, fish and chips, roast beef sandwich. Both food and service excellent and attentive. Look forward to next visit and thank you all.

We stayed for 3 nights at what we would describe as the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. We booked one of the luxury rooms where the door opened onto the lawn and river, spectacular views. The food was absolutely fabulous from breakfast to the Fishermans pub and the Owenmore restaurant, all wonderful. The staff were so friendly, courteous and efficient, a real asset to the hotel. Whilst there we booked the woodland sauna experience, well worth the 30euro per person, freezing cold lake dip & bucket showers, and lovely hot sauna, exhilarating. There is no doubt that this is not the cheapest hotel, particularly if you book a luxury room, however, for a special occasion it is a real treat & the best stay we have had anywhere throughout Ireland. Can't wait to return. Thanks to all the wonderful staff, we had great craic with you all. Love Wendy & Mark from Bangor, Northern Ireland xx

Excellent as always. So much hard work put in by staff to make your stay seamless. Have been going here for 10 years and enjoy just as much as the first time. Attention to detail is wonderful and any small issue addressed immediately and with speed

Superb adventure in this amazing hotel. We went to celebrate a few events and it was magical for both groups (young and not so young) ... can recommend the estate guided tour with a lovely young man (Eoin Joyce) ... who spoilt us for almost 2 hours .. The younger generation did the woodland sauna (must be booked) and they really enjoyed being back out in nature - even the cold shower and lake Dinner in the Owenmore was absolutely amazing .. beautiful food, great presentation and a family touch with all the staff .. this place has all the stars and will keep them

Beautiful interiors and attentive staff throughout the stay. I booked the stay last minute the only rooms were the smaller rooms in the main house which was very cosy with a well appointed ensuite bathroom and lovely Mountain View. We were unable to get a table in the main restaurant so we ate in the fisherman’s pub and had the most amazing cote de boeuf to share and had after dinner drinks in front of one of the many open fires in the house. The following morning we went to the main restaurant for breakfast with gorgeous river views, there was a great selection at the buffet and a good choice of hot foods made to order we opted for a traditional Irish breakfast. The Irish breakfast was my only complaint about our stay it was one of the worst I’ve had because of the 2 slimy fried eggs on the plate. I was surprised we weren’t asked how we’d like our eggs cooked and would suggest this option is given I would have preferred scrambled or poached as opposed to what was offered or at least the option of over easy. We did opt for the woodland sauna and I’d highly recommend this on your stay. We were supplied with a basket of towels, slipper and water and got to ride down to the lake in a golf buggy to go cold water swimming and take our sauna over looking the lake.

We are a family of 7+, just returned from our fourth Christmas break in Ballynahinch Castle. Ballynahinch Castle has to be one of the very best hotels in Ireland. Everything about this hotel is exceptional, especially the staff. From the initial engagement with reservations right through to departure, every member of staff we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we were being well looked after and enjoying our stay. It’s impossible to mention all by name but John the night porter was a standout, so much so that some of our family waited up at night to meet him. They then spent hours detaining him from his duties!! The manager Eoin effortlessly glides around, checking on all his guests, inquiring as to their wellbeing and ensures they are being cared for. All meals whether in the restaurant or the bar were excellent. Bedrooms, lounges, welcoming open fires, and all aspects of the hotel were extremely comfortable. Woodland walks, the hotel grounds, and lakeside saunas were all availed of and thoroughly enjoyed. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

I could not have loved my stay more. It was everything I wanted. Everything is beautiful - the building, the setting, the rooms, and the staff was wonderful. I happened to have a cold and laryngitis when I was there, and everyone asked about me and was offering me tea with honey and lemon. I couldn't recommend it more. Loved it.
