Arrived to the neighborhood and had some confusion with which house was the correct one; most unnumbered. When we found it, there was a massive excavation being done just nextdoor, which was sightly off putting. ( They later stopped while we were at dinner). We climbed the stairs and rang the bell. No Answer. I received a call from the host saying his wife was home and to try the bell again, but he would be there in a few minutes. We went to get our luggage and as we were returning he arrived. Joe was very pleasant and welcoming. He gave us a key the our room and the front door and explained that the keypad had recently gone up. Also explained that the Ring doorbell sent messages to his phone but, not his wife's (the reason for no one answering the door). He gave us a brief overview of the area and the pub and restaurant situation (no worthy options around the BandB, but lots of options in the town of Dungarvan). He showed us to our room. The room was as pictured and well appointed. The bathroom was modern- everything functioned well. The bed was comfortable. There was no lounging area for guests ( at least not shown one). We took his suggestion to go to Moorings in Dungarvan and were not disappointed. The food, drink and service were great. We we returned I wandered across the street (literally a 2 min walk) to the local pub. Quiet( Sunday evening). Just what every pub should look like- filled with history, advertising from the past and local character. Breakfast was stellar. Fruit and yogurt to start. Fresh orange juice. Really good toast ( the bread was perfect for toast). Lots of choice for the main - we opted for the omelet. Delicious and piping hot. Overall, Joe and his wife run a nice BandB. The breakfast was definitely the highlight.
