What a great historical hotel in the heart of Ballarat. The room was up to date and the staff was helpful with our luggage. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious and the service excellent. There was no problem with parking on site, especially upon our late night return from the Sovereign Hill Aura event.

Great stay at Oscars
We enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, staff helpful and restaurant was great. Karine in the dining room was fantastic. She was very attentive, pleasant and friendly.

Lovely property. Great room. Very comfortable bed. Unfortunately no guest laundry as noted on wotif and parking was a little difficult.

We sat in the restaurant for drinks and then ordered dinner when we were ready to eat. We could cruise along at our pace and the staff catered to our requests.

Never disappoints!
Love Oscars. Staff very attentive, friendly and helpful. Rooms always spotless and comfortable. Dined in and the food was high quality and service once again very good. Always the place to stay when I’m in Ballarat

One night for Christmas
Christmas night stay so knew that there would be restrictions.
The hotel advised us well beforehand that there would be no reception or restaurant facilities. Communication was excellent.
Small problem with the tv remote that was easily fixed.
Very comfortable sleep.

We stayed 2 nights in Room 1 which had a rattling A/C unit which ruined our sleep during a hot night on our first night.
Also when we had dinner downstairs which was fantastic we were served by a staff member who really didn’t enjoy serving customers was so grumpy and disinterested but what we had to eat was fantastic and when we come again to Ballarat we may come back, if only for the food.
Sadly car parking is first in first serve for hotel guests, which was inconvenient being that there was some doggy youths frequenting the area. Would be nice if the rooms had cereal bowls but as a bonus the showers are amazing and have double heads for couples. We wanted to share our thoughts of our stay but no staff attend to the reception early in the morning.
