Hotel Vera Ballarat

A most delightful Boutique Hotel in the heart of Historic Ballarat. The stylishly restored Victorian building that was such a pleasure to stay in that we didn’t want to check out. Host, David, was charming and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Dinner in the downstairs Restaurant was delicious then back upstairs to one of the most comfortable beds imaginable. Thank you.

One of the BEST hotel experiences anywhere. From arrival and being personally greeted by name, being shown around the property and to my room with clear explanation of how everything worked to assistance with my luggage there was NOTHING I could fault. It is beautifully and thoughtfully appointed - everything extremely high quality and it clear the owners have put their heart and soul into making this property what it is. Could not finish all the breakfast provided, it was excellent. Without doubt the BEST accommodation in Ballarat and one of the best in Australia. Highly reccomended.

This long-overdue review of a most praiseworthy boutique hotel is actually kick-started by a newspaper review I read the other day which (with full acknowledgement to the writer in ‘Escape’!) said it ‘is one of the loveliest hotels I’ve stayed at in Australia’…… that writer took the words out of my mouth! We had the Kingston Suite for an couple of nights and it was a feast for the eyes…. except the word ‘feast’ probably sounds too big and bold considering the serenity of the room and its sublimely tasteful and calm-inducing decor. We actually liked their towel choice so much we took ourselves to Sheridan whilst in Ballarat and bought ourselves copycat towels to take home! We’d also have liked to have taken home the luxe linen and their stunning hallway table…..indeed we could actually just transplant the whole hotel across to Adelaide to fill the gap we definitely have in the SA market for such superb small-scale hotels with so much comfort and warm welcoming hosts. Also, breakfast could not have been more perfectly assembled and portioned. Very well done!

What a surprise in store for us when we arrived outside this hotel with its subtle signage. Greeted warmly by David this set the tone for a wonderful experience. Sadly we were only there for 1 night during the week so couldn't go to the restaurant. Pure luxury in the suite with top quality fittings and toiletries. Within walking distance of numerous restaurants so dining was easy. Would make a trip to Ballarat for this hotel alone.

The hidden gem of Ballarat. We celebrated a special occasssion and were warmly greeted by both David & Martin on our arrival who immediately made us feel at home. The hotel has a charm all its own, & we stayed in the Kingston suite, which was spacious & beautiful. Thanks to David, Martin & Uni for a memorable stay that we won't forget !!

This is a spectacular hotel. Each room is designed differently, with artwork from different artists. The owners gave us a lovely tour and our room, the Kingston Suite, was incredible. Beautiful rooms, lovely owners, and central Ballarat.
