Staff is really friendly and respectful. The location is in the main road so you won't be able to enjoy anything in a walking distance however all beaches are 5km away from the location. You can enjoy by renting a scooter from nearby areas. I enjoyed dining at the hotel, they have local and western cuisines. Swimming pool may cost you extra buck if you want to swim. I stay with Aston properties before and I enjoy their service, so I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for affordable yet good service hotels in Bali.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Merusaka! It's a beautiful property that's a rare Indonesian owned and run hotel in the resort central of Bali. We stayed in a pool access rooms which was particularly perfect for a family with a baby. It's only 1.2m deep which is perfect for getting the littlies used to water in a somewhat private space (only shared with 4 other rooms and no one else was ever in the pool when we were!). Bed was gigantic and so comfy, great shower, huge bath (did not use) and a sofa lounger perfect for chilling and breastfeeding on. Great breakfast and facilities at the Merusaka. Never short of a lounge chair at the beautiful stretch of beach just infront of the hotel. The morning sunrise yoga was perfect way to start the day and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Super walkable to the gates of the ITDC so you can explore the world yonder. Felt like literally next door to Bali Collection. Left my son's swim hat at the hotel and staff coordinated with me and GoJek to send the hat to me in Legian. Could not fault the Merusaka. Wonderful wonderful stay - thank you. We will be back.

Best western kuta beach, bali. Yhis is my first visit and stay to this hotel, which the location very famous specially to who loves surfing, swimming, sunbathing... 800 m fr the to the famous kuta beach bali. Surrounding by five star hotels, culinairy, beachwalk mall, cafes. The hotel is nice, the room is comfort, clean, tidy, safety box, refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, nice linen pillows'bed/blanket. Breakfast is nice even simple ...

This would be my 5th stay at this resort. The only reason we keep coming here is due to awesome hospitality shown by their staff. The location of the resort adds further value to this. A special shout out to Kutith (if I have got his name right), the bar/kitchen manager near pool. A good person with great work ethics to make sure guests have a good time at resort. The reason I have given 4 star out of 5 is due to below - The rooms are in super need for renovations. Everything in room is starting to become worn out & non functional. We had few lights not working. The balcony door never closed properly, the toilet door had issues and we had water leakage happening from aircon on our last day of stay. The situation was same during our visit in Dec 2022, however as it was recent opening after Covid lockdown, I gave them a benefit of doubt then. Overall, good people & location.... but rooms need renovations...

What to say about this little Episode?...Well, it's quiet and peaceful and currently being renovated (with little disruption, it has to be said)... it's on the wrong side of the highway, so unless you want to dice with death, you need to bike or cab everywhere...the architecture is bizarre...form over function with a pool plonked in the middle...and rooms that really needed to be about 50% bigger for anyone who wants to properly swing a feline. Breakfast, robust and solid...especially if you're Asian...staff, obliging and attentive...a gym that's seen better days... an always empty restaurant that serves nice local food at a reasonable price...a big mega mall behind that's accessible from the hotel... and a booze-and-snack-filled minimart next door. What to say? ... it's nice. It's fine. It's a bit soulless and not very Bali...you can probably do better, but if you can't, it's grand.

We stayed here for 4 nights and 3 days, so here is our review. The Good Things: 1) This hotel is located beside GWK (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) in Bali, Ungasan. 2) The breakfast is great. A lot of food varies. There's a buffet and ala carte options. (We love the crepes and green detox). 3) the staff are so friendly and welcome. Especially to Mr Agus, please forward our thanks to him. 4) Rooms are clean and quite spacious. The not so good things: 1) Rooms: needs some renovation, such as painting or etc. Some loud noises could be heard, even during night. 2) Water pressure is weak 3) Breakfast: Some food can be improved so can taste better. Conclusion: This hotel is a great option if you choose to stay around Jimbaran or Uluwatu. We will definitely will come back next time, i hope they can keep the good things and improve the not so good things.

Awesome, this is a solid 5 Star hotel with direct access to the beach. The staff was perfect as well as checking in and checking out! The breakfast was amazing with many different dishes from many different countries! Our room was large with a king bed and garden view balcony! We had a great stay at this hotel but there were issues. I am writing this review as clearly as positive to help you weigh the negatives with the positives, as the value for money WAS excellent. GREAT THINGS The staff are fabulous. You can't beat the location. Right on the main strip of restaurants and next door to Artesedana (old Hardys), so you can buy all the water, drinks and fresh food you need. We had a cabana room and it was exactly as portrayed. Loved our plunge pool and the super comfy lounger chairs. Plenty of pool towels available. This is one of the few Bali hotels I have eaten at that does cakes really well. The breakfast didn't have massive selection, but everything was well cooked and tasty. Room service meals were great too. I am also mindful that any other hotel could offer a plunge pool room with breakfast in a main location for anywhere near the price we paid. It was excellent value for money. NEGATIVES Our king bed was so awful. It was on a wooden base which creaked loudly every time you moved. It also swayed with even the slightest movement, so not great sleep there. It might be worth considering getting twin share so that at least you don't wake each other up all night simply moving. It is very noisy. There were 3 dogs in the laneway behind our room who barked all night. Not intermittent barking, constant barking. There was one night in our 8 night stay where they only barked for a few hours and thankfully went silent - but barked the rest of the evenings. I wore 34db earplugs every night and the dogs still kept me awake. I don't know what was being moved in the rooms above us, but it sounded like furniture was being dragged on and off most of the night. I was incredibly loud and woke us both each time - even me wearing earplugs. The hallways are also very noisy. The internet access is unsecured and you constantly have to keep logging back on, which made it difficult to do work while we were on holidays. Not a negative - but keep in mind this is a low-service hotel in that there is no pool bar and no service at the pool, no money exchange offered (although there is a great money changer directly over the road). This didn't worry us, but could be disappointing for anyone wanting the pool bar experience. CONCLUSION On the whole, I still consider the room was excellent value for money and I enjoyed my stay. Probably wouldn't go back - just because sleep is an important part of the holiday and it was so noisy!

It’s the perfect place if you have an early flight - with the most comfortable bed!! Everything is nice and clean and the people are amazingly friendly. I loved how helpful and kind they all were. It’s not at the best location, as Bali has tooo many other beautiful beaches and this hotel is not situated at one of those beautiful beaches. Other than that, I can’t complain at all. I had a great evening there with an early morning flight. The hotel shuttle to the airport was free and they packed a lovely breakfast for me to take to the airport since I left too early to get breakfast at the hotel.

We have recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable 10 night vacation at Vivara Private Pool Villas & Spa Retreat in Jimbaran, Bali. Our aim was to get away from our busy life and take a complete break. The resort comprises 48 beautiful, private, self-contained pool villas, most of which are one or two-bedroom. Each villa is like your own home-away-from home, with pool decking and lounges, an alfresco kitchen bungalow (with a daily replenishment of non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar), outdoor rain shower and bathroom, and a spacious bedroom with lounge area. It is clear that the resort aims to make every guest’s experience as comfortable as possible. As we were so comfortable in our villa, we were determined not to become complete ‘holiday recluses’ and, despite room service being the option for many of the guests, we always walked to the poolside restaurant for breakfast each morning, afternoon tea every second day, before feasting on a fabulous evening dining experience on alternate evenings. Needless to say, we did not leave Vivara hungry! The resort is like a small community, and staff are more than happy to transport you to and from your villa using golf buggies, or you can take advantage of the communal bikes and scooters and ride around the resort pathways. Additionally, a complimentary shuttle service to and from Jimbaran Beach is available, and times are customised to guests, creating a very personalised and welcome service. Being a spa retreat, we indulged in five deep tissue massages each, and they were a highlight of our stay. The private bungalows are built in a traditional Balinese style, are quiet and calming, and the masseuses provided a comfortable, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Thank you, so much. The heart of the resort, though, is the staff. They were all, without exception, incredibly friendly, helpful, and always keen to converse and learn about their guests, or share their insights into Bali. We cannot recommend the Vivara staff highly enough. Thank you, Keke, and all your staff, for making our stay so enjoyable. We loved being immersed in the Balinese style of the resort, and Vivara did not disappoint as the ideal place for us to unwind and relax. We have no hesitation in recommending Vivara to any visitors searching for the same experience.
