Bali Karangasem Hotels

Situated in a tranquil valley, Natya Riverside has breathtaking views of the rice fields and surrounding forests. It's a beautiful place to escape and camp in comfort. The staff are wonderful, they made us feel welcomed and made sure we had everything we needed including trying to book tours for us. The pool is great for relaxing (but not that deep), and you can bathe in the river. There are plenty of shady areas to hangout in and enjoy the breeze. The evening bonfire really rounds out the camping experience where you can chat with other guests or stargaze. I liked the outdoor showers but struggled to close the door completely - not that it mattered because there's foliage providing privacy but some campers might feel it's too open. It's situated on the outskirts of town but most activities offer a hotel pick up. The best experience was crafting our own silver rings with the local Silver Class Sidemen family who are a 20 minute drive from Natya. I can't wait to return :)

You have to be a hiking person in order to book this facility. It was hard to access during the night as the lights were faulty and were scary pitch black. We complained about the faulty lights but the staff didn't take any action. The view was stunning every day. A very big Buddha was placed in an amazing view. A small restaurant was there. The car park was damp and the car easily got stuck. If you are planning just to stay in the accommodations and enjoy the view, it's a good place. If you are frequently traveling, it's an everyday hiking business.

We spent two nights at the villa and had a great time. Peaceful and quiet. Romantic indeed. They have a nice menu of local and western dishes for dinner that they can bring you to the house.

The room is very new. I stayed in a room on the second floor, facing a rice field forest. The view is unbeatable. You can see Mount Agung from the window of the room, usually in the morning. Breakfast is the traditional Balinese fried rice and fried noodles. The service is pretty good. Maybe the hotel is too niche, and guests also give each other food. It's nice to lie by the small swimming pool! The only minus point is that the road is very difficult to drive in. It's close to the hotel, about 500 meters of pure dirt road, and you have to press the weeds to get in... Of course, it's also a real paradise!

Saw it reviewed on YouTube, so thought I’d check it out for myself. First up, you gotta have a car because it’s in the middle of nowhere and apart from one small waterfall, there’s not a whole lot in this area, but it’s great as a 5 star base for day trippin to Besakih temple and Kintamani to overlook Mt. Badung volcano.  Hotel is green, lush foliage everywhere, exquisitely designed and idyllic, set up the side of a small valley, the superior rooms look out across coconut trees and rice paddies, it’s a lovely view. As you would imagine it’s very quiet, but the hotel got you covered as outside every room is a water feature that covers any music or other noises coming from the room. It is adult only and this shows in the design. The infinity pools are great, the restaurant is a little limited but fine for short stays. Food quality is good to very good, important as Grab is an hour delivery in all directions.  Staff are all locals from the village which is a nice touch - the hotel goes to some length to explain its ‘sustainable tourism’ pov in this regard.  Rooms are superb, wood, rattan, carvings, all have decks with views. WiFi a little weak where we were, but hotel immediately delivered a 5G portable hotspot dongle which solved that minor issue. Otherwise the room was spacious, 2 daily housekeeping visits, one in the morning to clean, the other (6pm) to arrange the mosquito net around the bed. Really first class service. Ok it’s a bit pricey for Bali, but if you want a small resort with views as a good inland location for exploring, Samanvaya does it very well. Recommended.

Staying at Wapa di Ume Sidemen was an absolutely wonderful experience! The resort is breathtakingly beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning rice fields that create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The service was impeccable—every staff member was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. The rooms were spacious, clean, and designed with a perfect blend of luxury and traditional Balinese charm. One of the best things about this place is its location. It is surrounded by lovely cafés and restaurants, making it easy to explore the local flavors while enjoying the serenity of Sidemen. If you’re looking for a place to unwind and experience true Balinese hospitality, Wapa di Ume Sidemen is the perfect choice. I can’t recommend it enough!
