Room is not properly cleaned, got bitten by bed bugs throughout the night and now I have to suffer the itchiness for a week

The room we were given were not cleaned before we were allowed to check in, dirt everywhere, unclean sides and stains on the bed. Bitten multiple times and woken up during sleep being bitten. Complained to staff who said they would change our bedding whilst we were out and clean the room.. came home to the exact same situation nothing had been cleaned. Asked to speak to manager and when finally spoke to her on the phone she said that it is not a 5* hotel and that she cannot help. We are aware that it is not 5* but to have a clean bed and clean sides would be nice. Awful service and awful stay.
