What an incredible stay!! This hotel made my trip to Ubud. Wonderfully located next to the vibrant yoga barn, local markets, entertainment, independent stores and the monkey forest. To sum it up, I found the hotel relaxing and beautiful! The decoration, wind chimes, unique touches and selection of books certainly impress. Inviting, bright, comfortable, helpful ( umbrellas and transport for those in need) and daily offerings of coffee and treats. The fresh fruit was delightful. The Sapodilla team are amazing, as helpful as could be, and really friendly, sharing great local advice, even on unfamiliar topics, sharing smiles and cheerful banter when conversing, and pleasant surprises too. I mentioned interest in attending an “offering” workshop, and they suggested that they could host that at the hotel as a treat! The teacher who led this workshop made my trip! She was on her first day as part of the Sapodilla team and you would never have guessed it. She was natural in leading: friendly, fun and knowledgeable in the workshop. She shared cultural insights and showed interest in learning about my home town too ( it was fun to share.) I feel like we had met as strangers and became friends. I couldn’t appreciate her more. Meeting each member of the team brought insights and a sense of community. This hotel was full of surprises, be sure to be welcomed to a delightful selection of favourable teas, stunning views, a refreshing pool and thoughtful “bedtime stories.” Overall, the Sapodillia hotel community went out of their way to connect with others and genuinely care. It is a lovely place to stay, especially with the location being so central. Thank you Sapodillia team!!

Sapodilla Ubud is a small hotel with a polite receptionist (a young woman) and a couple of friendly guys handling cleaning duties. However, the breakfast staff in the restaurant seemed unmotivated and lacked proper service attitude. Rooms suffer from extremely high humidity, resulting in a damp feeling throughout — including the bed linens and towels, which never really feel dry. The hotel has a small pool, but the water is heavily chlorinated. Given the tropical climate of Bali, this might actually be a plus in terms of hygiene. Keep in mind that the reception desk is not open 24 hours, so checking in or out at night is not an option. Overall, the hotel might work for a basic overnight stay if you're not too picky. There could be better value-for-money options nearby, but we didn’t actively compare or search for alternatives.

The best service I’ve ever experienced! The hotel added a personal touch and was extremely attentive to their guests. There was a personal welcome note as well as a nightly bedtime story. The hotel arrange a driver for my day trip to the waterfalls, they also arranged for me to be dropped off to the airport, taking a lot of the hassle off my plate. Breakfast a delicious breakfast of my choice was delivered to my room every morning. The room was incredibly specious, clean and comfortable. Soft bed, high pressure shower and a tub big enough for two people. The location is also pretty good… there’s tons of stores and restaurants around, it’s walkable distance from downtown if you enjoy waking, if not the hotel also provided a shuttle service free of charge to and from downtown. It was an exceptional stay and I’m very grateful to all the staff that went above and beyond to make my stay a great one.

Great hotel. Very clean and comfortable. The staff does everything to make you feel at home! The restaurant cooks very tasty and inexpensive. The breakfasts are huge! The only thing that was very stressful was the construction nearby and the terrible noise in the morning. It is very likely that we will go back there again!

There is a pool right in front of you, so it feels like a private villa. If you leave the room half open, you can see inside. There is no phone in the room, so it is a hassle to order breakfast. There is a wide variety of breakfast options. You can choose from each style. It also comes with dessert, so it is very filling. I was grateful that long-sleeved loungewear was provided. There are dance shows held all over Ubud every day, so we used the shuttle bus to get there. The day before, we stayed at another hotel and went to see a dance show a little further away, but it was difficult to arrange the shuttle (the start time was fixed, so would we make it in time? Would we be able to get back to the hotel properly on the way back?), so we were able to use the hotel's shuttle bus with peace of mind, and it was very helpful not to have to worry about anything strange. The accommodation is small, so the staff are friendly and kind. They call you by name. The WiFi in the room did not work, so the next day an engineer-like staff member came and tried various things but it did not work, so they installed a router separate from the room. It worked for a moment at that time, but in the end it did not work at all during our stay. My child who uses an iPhone was fine. The cause is unknown.

The day before staying here, we stayed at a hotel in Ubud, which was much cheaper, but how nice it was! Therefore, in contrast, expectations from Sapodilla were higher, because it is more expensive. As a result, we can say about the hotel that it is tired, there is construction all around, lying by the pool or waking up to the sounds of construction is not very pleasant, but no one warns about this. The staff is not very attentive, this is observed both in the reception area and in the restaurant at breakfast. Breakfast is mediocre, a hair was found in the pancake. The chips in the room are just awful to taste, it is better not to put anything in then. Shampoo, gel, soap have a very chemical and unpleasant smell. When fully occupied, there may not be enough sun loungers by the pool, especially since there are guests who occupy the sun loungers with their things in advance 🫠
