We had a truly wonderful stay at Shibumi. Despite our late check-in at 1am due to a flight delay, the staff were incredibly responsive and accommodating. They made us feel welcomed right from the moment we arrived and were always quick to respond to our needs via WhatsApp.
Each morning, we were served breakfast directly in our room, such a thoughtful touch that made our mornings feel extra special. The room itself was beautifully designed, blending nature with Balinese charm and Japanese zen aesthetics. It was serene, calming, and tastefully curated, a perfect escape from the busyness of life.
We genuinely loved every moment of our stay and would highly recommend Shibumi to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat.

What you see in the pictures is what you get. It is truly as beautiful as it looks!
Amenities were great, water pressure and temperature was amazing as well. No issues at all with the villa.
Mr Putu and Hadi were sooo helpful and nice during our stay, helping to arrange drivers, massage sessions, food, etc.
The only downsides i can think of is that the pool is really cold when the sun isn’t out, and you need to get used to having nature’s critters around you (especially in the downstairs bathroom); lizards, frogs, etc. Totally harmless and kinda cute! But sometimes seeing a frog at the top of the mirror is still a bit of a shock🙃
Location-wise is on a quiet stretch about 10 mins away from Ubud Central, but get a GrabBike or a driver to take you into the city for the day if you need. Otherwise, we were actually super happy just chilling in the villa!
The food from E2C was so crazy good too! Special recommendation for the bebek goreng, and burger! Breakfast is served in your villa from 8am and comes from E2C, and every breakfast we had was incredible!!!
I wouldn’t say that it’s the cheapest, but you really get a beautiful villa to unwind in:)
Pro Tip: book your massage sessions early if you’re going to Ubud Traditional Spa cos they are alwaysss full. According to our driver, they are the number 1 spa in Ubud. ALSO, we tried the silver workshop offered by Shibumi and we must say the morning session was super enjoyable! Definitely worth doing atleast once:)

Beautiful accommodation, Japanese style on the island of Bahri. Quiet and natural atmosphere. Very good service. Delicious breakfast. If you want a quiet place to stay, I recommend this place.

1. The room is damp and has a strong musty smell
2. There are dead flies on the sheets
3. There is no lobby, the place is remote and hard to find, and the gravel road is inconvenient for luggage to move
4. The sound and light insulation is very poor, the room has no door, and it relies on a simple sliding door
5. The water heater has low power, and there is no hot water after washing for a while
6. The breakfast is bought from the coffee shop next door, and it can be eaten everywhere

Shobumi in Ubud is run like a homestay. The communication with the staff via WhatsApp was very fast and orderly. The room was also very new and large. There is also a restaurant and spa nearby.

Pros: Great service, good breakfast, quiet environment.
Cons: The suite has very little privacy, covered by a piece of ultra-thin curtains, sleeping at night outdoor lighting completely makes it difficult to fall asleep. And that outside will look in. This thing deducts a lot of points.
Also the washrooms and showers are outdoors, lots of small insects, afraid of insect people to avoid lightning.

I recommend booking a large suite, there is a cafe right outside. It is very convenient and there is a very delicious restaurant and a good spa location within 400m.

The villa is nice and new, with two floors and a swimming pool. The breakfast is delicious and the service is good. The only problem is that it is located in a relatively remote path and requires walking in.
