The Kemilau Ubud

The executive room was big, spacious and clean! We love the layout of the living area and privacy of the second floor. The hotel is decorated like a sanctuary. The only downside is the curtains for the shower area cannot be closed fully, so people from outside can still see through a gap. No issue if it’s for couples, but might not be convenient for those staying with friends or family with kids. The sink is situated outside of the bathroom which is kind of strange as well. But overall the staffs were helpful, courteous and very nice. I will definitely book this hotel again for my next visit.

Pros: - Excellent and helpful staff who do their best for the comfort of their guests. - Good design, everything you need in the room. Cons: - Our room (115) is constantly dark, no sunlight penetrates there. Because of the darkness, the room constantly smelled of dampness and mold. The staff brought us a dehumidifier, but it didn’t help us, the humidity in the room was 85-90% (we stayed in May, in the dry season). - Because of the dampness and darkness, there is a lot of mold in the room: on the ceiling, on the headboard, on the curtains. - The exhaust fan in the bathroom also worked very poorly, the steam from the bath almost did not disappear. - The air conditioner in the room turned on and off randomly, changed modes. We called the staff to sort out the problem, they said that they fixed it, but nothing changed. - The curtain for the bath was installed incorrectly in the room. I suppose that it should not be possible to see what is happening in the bath. But it turned out the other way around: you can see everything that's going on in the bath through the curtain, but you can't see what's going on in the room from the bath. - The hotel's pool was dirty most of the time, and the tiles at the bottom of the pool were also dirty. - The hotel's amenities indicated that there was a laundry room, but it turned out that the hotel didn't have one. To sum it up: this is a new hotel, which has become moldy in just a few months, and the pool has also deteriorated. It's scary to imagine what will happen to this building in a few years.

Kemilau Ubud is a fantastic place for relaxation, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The location is ideal, with top-notch restaurants nearby, making dining a delightful experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Ubud.
