Shankara Accommodation Ubud

Accomodation surrounded beautiful trees and plants. Highlights: Located at the starting point of West Ubud, this place was perfect for me as I prefer to stay somewhere quiet and private. There’s a spacious yoga area and a relaxing space in the center of the property. They also offer hot water from a fountain, along with tea and coffee. Things to keep in mind: The restroom seemed to be affected by mold after the rainy season. Also, the rooms on the second floor are only divided by walls, so if someone else books at the same time, you might hear some noise. Luckily I'm the one stayed there👍

Not accessible by car, and have to walk through an alley to get there (photos). If this had been stated on the Trip app description, it could have been fine as we’d have the option to decide to go for it anyway, but it wasn’t, therefore we arrived with our suitcases to be met with a massive ramp and then an alley and no car access. Once we called the hotel they came collect our things, but if we didn’t have a working phone we’d be in a pickle. So although the location is super central, it’s not too easy to pop to the hotel and out, which lost the purpose a bit of having a base near town. Staff was super nice and tried to cater for everything we asked, including changing the mini bar as the original one was broken. The room is spacious and looks nice, so do the communal areas of the hotel. Te bed and pillows are very comfortable and it has a nice balcony (on the deluxe bedroom). The shower was really weak, very little water pressure and actually had to manage to shower. The communal kitchen was incredibly dirty. The room was clean, but the bathroom a bit smelly.
