Let's start with good things first. The hotel is at a beautiful location, although a little farther, but away from the crowd and noise, at a peaceful place, a visually appealing huge property. The hospitality and demeanor, the behavior of staff is really great, they are very professional, humble and polite. The resort has multiple stay options, including cottages, cottage with a private pool and hotel like rooms too. The cottages look great, but since we wanted to book separate 2 rooms, online portals only provided options to book the Beach Cove side. We stayed for 3 days with a Senior Citizen and a 2 year old kid. Best part of the Stay - Food, Comfortable Rooms, Hospitality. Commute: Avoid the beach Cove side of properties, it is 3 floors below the ground level and very far from the main gate. You may have the partial beach view (can see it from 1KM), but the inconvenience and commute is not worth it. Only way to reach here is to walk and take an old lift. Which even though is good and always has a staff, inconvenient as the rest of the way is very hard to walk for a kid and senior citizen. They provide a van at times until the lift but you can be waiting a long time to get it or some times they can just say they don't have a van. Beach Access: The beach is quite far from the back gate and not as walkable as the reviews and descriptions make it seem. The back gate itself is far. Once you get out of the back gate need to walk far to get to the beach. No commute available and resort doesn't ***age anything to reach there. They expect people to walk. No empathy for senior citizen and kids. The gate access itself is limited till 6PM only, so if you are planning to watch the sunset at the beach, plan to come back walking 3-4KM to the main entrance from outside the property. It is difficult to find an Auto or other private vehicles too. Amenities: Kids play area, 2 pools, Trampoline, Good Restaurant, TravelDesk, Ayurveda therapy, consultation Food: Expensive! Low value for Money!! The Buffet is very costly and very repetitive and bare basic. For once or twice it is okay although you can't have this every day and night. No consistency, what you ordered and liked today, may be bad the next day. No empathy for special instructions like non spicy food etc. Desserts were good. Room service is terrible. The menu has very limited items, barely any options. They don't even provide plates, spoons and bowls and spoons enough to feed all the people. The Chapatis go hard as a Metal sheet in few minutes. Every order needs 2-3 follow ups to get it right. I posted this review although and the service difference on the last day was Humongous! Wish they could ***age crowd and pressure better. We had asked for some Food To Go on the last day, while they pleasantly arranged for the Lunch parcel, the packaging was terrible and the Khichdi spilled over the whole bag. Stayed at Vivanta Trivandrum 26-28 July 24. The rooms were very well and tastefully appointed. It’s a new property only 3 yrs old. It still looks new. The staff is great . The gentleman Shri Mahesh ( I may be wrong about the name) in charge of the breakfast was very helpful and was explaining typical Kerala cuisine enthusiastically. The Konkan cafe is a tastefully decorated restaurant for sea food lovers. My wife loved the prawns curry made to her dietary restrictions. The chef personally ensured that her dietary restrictions were adhered to. Great place to go and stay.

It was great stay at Uday Samudra..........Hotel is well maintained with private beach, and nicely decorated rooms. Staff was courteous and very helping, good work of Mr Praveen for room cleaning and also by supervisor Mrs. Nirmala Mary. Thanks for making our trip enjoyable!!!

A day well spent at over the hills with my colleagues. The scenery and landscape where spectacular. The service by the team over there was so remarkable. We had lots of wonderful moments with Over the Hill Resort. The ambience, hospitality, and delicious cuisines makes our anniversary more memorable and enjoyable. Excellent prompt response except the front desk, they are missing some requests made by us. Follow up needs to be done for sometimes. The courtesy in the receptionist's voice is missing some time. Recommending the respective authorities needs to be taken care to rectify that issue.

We recently stayed for one night at Gateway in Varkala, and it was a delightful experience. The property has an old-world charm, with antique features that have been beautifully maintained, giving it a unique and welcoming atmosphere. Our stay was peaceful, with stunning views of the beach, making it the perfect spot for relaxation. The staff truly made our visit special. Shruthy, Reji, and Hari were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring that we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch that we greatly appreciated. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and are already looking forward to our next visit. Gateway, Varkala is a gem, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene and charming getaway.

Me and my wife stayed at the ‘ Gokuldam Grand ,Turtle on the Beach ‘ Trivandrum in September. It was a stay which will be etched in our memory forever. The staff was very affectionate and responsive to our needs and went out of the way to make us comfortable. The rooms are also excellent comfortable and well furnished. Here I will like to specially mention about Mr Rajesh of the front office, Mr Balu and Ms Veena in the restaurant ( Catamaran) who left no stone unturned in making us feel at home. This in addition to the chef and the rest of the staff who also worked tirelessly to make the guests comfortable All in all a memorable stay 👍👍

This resort is situated approx. 500 mtr inside from the national highway road, out of which approx. 200 mtr road is too narrow. Google map tricked us two times how to take the exit from the main road. Reception, ayurvedic center, swimming pool etc. are in the main land while the rooms are in a small island type area, which is separated by a small river (hardly 50 meter breadth) before joining the sea. There is 24 x 7 traditional type boat arranged by the hotel itself. Parking space in front of the reception is limited, hardly enough for 5 or 6 cars. Reception staff were friendly, the boat driver too. When you reach the room for the first time, you may have a feeling that the rooms are bit old and the surroundings are not as what you expected. But after some time, you will get acquainted with it and start to enjoy it. The (part) sea view from the rooms are good, in the morning you can see the views of local fishermen busy with their work. The ”estuary” area is not so clean unfortunately. There is a way to the beach through the back side of the restaurant. Myself & wife used the ayurvedic center for full body massage, which was excellent and the therapists were professionally trained. Restaurant have only limited options, but the food was ok. We have ordered tea & pakora for the evening and chapati & grilled chicken for the dinner, both were good and not so spicy or oily. Breakfast was enough with fruits, Idly, Dosa, stuffed poratha, omelet etc. and restaurant in charge (sorry, I forgot his name, Mr. Thampi or something similar) was very friendly. Overall, I liked the resort and the atmosphere and suggest it to my fellow travelers, if you like a peaceful and silent place. Try to get the upper floor rooms of the resort for a good view.
