Würde nicht mehr in dieses Hotel reisen und ich würde auch das Hotel nicht empfehlen. Positiv: - Kostenloser Pool sowie Fitnessraum/Freizeitraum - Design innen sowie außen gepflegt, allerdings niemals 5 Sterne wert - Lage OK, Supermarkt um die Ecke, Restaurant/Room Service im Haus Negativ: - Begannt schon vor der Anreise. Habe das Hotel direkt auf der Homepage gebucht. Das Hotel was für uns 4 preislich sehr attraktiv. 1 Woche vor Anreise wollte ich mit dem Hotel kurz Rücksprache halten, ob mit dem Flughafen Transfer alles klar geht. Mir wurde dann kurz und knapp gesagt, ich solle die Buchung stornieren und über die Homepage nochmals buchen. Nachdem ich doch sehr verwundert über die Forderung war, wurde mir erklärt, dass ich bei der ursprünglichen Buchung ”Zahlung bei Buchung” ausgewählt habe und nun ”Zahlung bei Check-in” auswählen solle. Ich habe dann nachgesehen und konnte feststellen, dass natürlich bereits mit ”Zahlung bei Check-in” gebucht wurde, da ich logischerweise ja ansonsten schon etwas bezahlt hätte. In diesen paar Minuten, indem ich meine Buchung prüfte, kam auch schon die Stornierung seitens Hotel rein. Als ich dann die Buchung wie vom Hotel gefordert nochmals tätigen wollte, wurde mir plötzlich der doppelte Preis angezeigt. Ich habe dies sofort reklamiert und nach etwas Nachdruck meinerseits wurde mir dann ein zumindest ähnlicher Preis als ursprünglich vor Monaten gebucht angeboten. Man stelle sich vor, ich melde mich nicht mehr beim Hotel, fliege einfach hin und stehe da und kann doppelt zahlen oder habe kein Zimmer. Ganz klarer Scam-Versuch an Touristen, da an diesem Wochenende der Formel 1 GP in Baku war und klar, das Hotel mehr generieren wollte. Schockierend. - Beim Check-in vor Ort die nächste Hürde: Mir wurde auf Nachfrage bei der Buchung gesagt, es werden 2 gängige Kreditkarten sowie Debitkarten akzeptiert. Am Check-in dann plötzlich die Bitte, in bar zu begleichen. Natürlich hatte niemand soviel Bargeld dabei, weshalb wird einen Geldautomaten aufgesucht haben. Dieser allerdings konnte nicht genug Geld auswerfen, weshalb wir uns entschlossen haben, mit dem Hotel in dieser Sache nochmals zu sprechen, da uns eine Kreditkartenzahlung (wie in nahezu jedem Hotel weltweit) versichert wurde. Nach ein paar mal Bitten und einem Gespräch mit dem sogenannten ”Night-Manager” funktionierte die Kreditkarte doch plötzlich und war gar kein Problem mehr. Zuerst hies es, es wäre ein Systemfehler, dann meinte er, er wollte uns ja nur Fragen ob es möglich wäre in bar zu bezahlen, es wäre ihnen lieber aber kein Muss. Sehr komisch.... - Kontaktmöglichkeiten im Voraus mangelhaft. Mehrere Telefonnummer im Netz, auch Mailadressen gibt es einige. Sehr spannend. - Für den einen positv, für den einen negativ: Das Hotel ist voll von Escort-Damen. Im Nebenzimmer war die Geräuschkulisse entsprechend. Uns hat es gestört, da es sehr unprofessionell wirkt und auch Kinder vor Ort waren. - Zimmer hellhörig, da direkt zur großen Lobby ausgerichtet.

I would like to share my wonderful experience of staying at Excelsior Hotel Resort&Spa in Baku this June. I booked 4 nights (12-16 June) as I was planning since long time ago to visit Baku with my mom. I selected Excelsior based on reviews on *********** and its facilities. I must say I did not regret a second to have made this choice :) the hotel haz amazing interior design, superb breakfast service (thank you, team and Chef Zohra), amazing swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and spa amenities. I was super happy to celebrate my birthday in the hotel and the staff surprised me in the evening by bringing a cake and champagne to our room. It was such a beautiful gesture I will never forget:) overall, the staff is one of the best I met in my life caring, attentive, responsive and friendly. Disappointed in all honesty. The room itself was as expected, nice design and very spacious. Housecleaning was below par as there was still rubbish on the floor after I had returned in the evening, 2 nights in a row. Had to wait a few minutes for the shower to get warm. No toothbrushes in the bathroom. Miscommunication between staff about payment which resulted in a very unnecessary late night phone call from the front desk. Further miscommunication about parcel delivery. One day it was brought straight to the room, the next day it was against hotel policy. Asked for help with luggage for check out, never came. Very far from the ritz experience.

I chose this hotel because of the location, as it was close to the embassy where I needed to go, and it served my purpose. The streets around are very quiet, so no traffic noise. The room was fine for the price, spacious, good bed, clean, windows can be opened to let in air. The only problem, as others mentioned in the reviews, is that shower cabin leaks onto the floor, so the floor in the bathroom gets very wet and slippery. I did not try wi-fi or breakfast at this hotel, so cannot comment on that. 100 manat deposit was required when checking in even though room had been paid online. Maybe it's common pratice in AZ, I don't know.

Правда не понимал иногда английский язык, а на русском немного говорили 2 человека. Рекомендую отель.

Please read carefully. I stayed this hotel for 4 nights, first impression was good. Room was clean and big. Brakefast also quite good. I enjoyed my stay 2 nights but after that my trip has been collapsed. I was trapped by hotel staff. I wanted to change my currency that i had US dollars that time. And outside there is no restaurant and other facility so i have decided to change my currency from hotel as hotel staff suggested me but i got high rate on exchage money. That was no problem because I needed money. Reception area people saw how much money i have and after that they made plan to trap me. One guy came to me and his name is Ibrahim. Working as a front desk manager. He said, if you want tour guide then i can be yours. I really wanted to local person for my travel in baku because hotel is far from the majot activity. At night 9 o’clock when he finished his shift, he took me to nizam street at one nightclub. We had 2 beer and 3 glass of whisky for the 3 girls, girls was setting on our table. We enjoyed that 1 hr. Then bill came and i was shocked. Bill amount was 370 manat. That was horrible. It’s around 220 US dollar. I went to bill counter area and asked about bill. They started to argue with me. I said i ordered only 2 beer and 3 whisky glass means bill around 30 manat as menu card shown. After 2 boxers came to club and they started to argue with me and forcefully tried to tell me pay thr bill. I was scared so i paid 200 US dollar. After i came to out with hotel staff ( Ibrahim ) girl came to me and said , you have paid huge amount and its included with my charge, just go to your hotel room and i will stay till morning. I said , okay. I took her with me outside the hotel area. We were 4 people time time. I , ibrahim , that nightclub girl and taxi driver. Driver asked me 50 manat from nightclub to my hotel. Usually its takes only 3 manat. Hotel receptionist said , its not taxi , its a club car. I said okay and i paid 50 manat also. But after that i realised that i was trapped. I told that girl please go back i really don’t want to go with you in my room. As you asked 30 manat that money i am giving you but please go. But she never go, she started argue and said , i will not go otherwise i will call the police and yes my security guard means that taxi driver will stay here till im in your room. I was collapsed. Hotel receptionist doesn’t say anything. He just stand like a statue.I said to her, okay sleep in to my room and i will spend my time on reception area but for that she is not ready. She always telling me i will call the police. I said okay lets go and i took her into my room. When she arrived in my room she asked 200 dollar. Omg i was trapped. She said , police will come soon if you not ready to give. I was finished. I gave her 200 dollar but she want more and more. I said , I don’t have money now. She took my power charger also. After many fail attempt i request her please go. Then she went. I lost my 400 dollar and 50 manat.

Breakfast is uniform, but the choice is. The hotel administration decided our question very quickly and quickly by moving to another room.
