Disappointed in all honesty. The room itself was as expected, nice design and very spacious. Housecleaning was below par as there was still rubbish on the floor after I had returned in the evening, 2 nights in a row. Had to wait a few minutes for the shower to get warm. No toothbrushes in the bathroom. Miscommunication between staff about payment which resulted in a very unnecessary late night phone call from the front desk. Further miscommunication about parcel delivery. One day it was brought straight to the room, the next day it was against hotel policy. Asked for help with luggage for check out, never came. Very far from the ritz experience.

I would like to share my wonderful experience of staying at Excelsior Hotel Resort&Spa in Baku this June. I booked 4 nights (12-16 June) as I was planning since long time ago to visit Baku with my mom. I selected Excelsior based on reviews on *********** and its facilities. I must say I did not regret a second to have made this choice :) the hotel haz amazing interior design, superb breakfast service (thank you, team and Chef Zohra), amazing swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and spa amenities. I was super happy to celebrate my birthday in the hotel and the staff surprised me in the evening by bringing a cake and champagne to our room. It was such a beautiful gesture I will never forget:) overall, the staff is one of the best I met in my life caring, attentive, responsive and friendly. I recommend Excelsior to anyone who travels to Baku for business or leisure. Ludmila, Ukraine. June 2023.

We stayed here a year ago and had an excellent experience. This time I found some deterioration in the quality for example of the amenities, reduced to the essentials. The breakfast is of quality but limited. Reception staff available and prepared. Great breakfast staff. Excellent pool staff.

We arrived on the 22 and was welcomed by ismail and checked in by shams from reception both were super nice and instantly gave us one of the best first impression any one can ask for. Our first day we had shawarma from black city and it was the best shawarma we ever had and made us go back again for the taste of it several times. Definitely recommend every one to try. We had the best service by our special favorite orkhan who was super friendly and the team made sure we get the best service. We had to just look once and literally the staff comes running to help. 10/10 for the attentiveness and details of the black city staff. We tried green house but the food is same as white city. Would have been amazing if they had a different cuisine than white city. We had the best shisha made by Hussain who was very kind but didn’t get the same smile and sweetness from the other staff in green house. Service was not bad but as we had an amazing experience from black city where all the staff are super attentive was a little down fall. We had dinner in white city and couldn’t order anything else after we tried the honey baby chicken which was absolutely delicious. We also had lunch twice in white city but the service was super slow due to lack of staff but David while we noticed it was definitely a time of rush he had done amazing while doing the service with a very energetic smile and a very positive vibe. The hotel has a beautiful steam room, sauna and a pool. I met gulshan from spa while I went for sauna who always was super attentive kind with a gorgeous smile. It is beautiful to go for a walk out side the hotel as it’s near a park with ocean views. We had met amazing locals as well as everyone we met were super kind. The hotel has beautiful garden and greenery around the property. We usually take pictures in every country we go but we fell in love with the gardens and the colours around we took pictures just out side the hotel. Lots of mini butterflies and just super pretty and beautiful colorfulness around the hotel. The rooms are spacious and if you love mirrors this would be a perfect place as the hallway to room are filled with huge mirrors. The only problem we faced was that the hotel didn’t have a eu plug and we had to take a walk to get them on the first day but other than that didn’t have any issues. Lastly was checked out by Orkhan from reception who was funny and sweet asked us about our stay and had a good last impression as well. All together a great team at marriot and definitely would recommend to stay as the hotel is beautiful with amazing facilities and to top of has amazing staff with delicious food. Personally this was the best vacation 💕

The front desk service is very patient and the check-in will help you bring your luggage to the room. The hotel’s pick-up service was booked in advance and the driver arrived at the airport in advance. The hotel is fully equipped with good breakfast and a shopping mall. The room facilities are complete, and the bedside jack comes with an adapter, which can be used to charge another mobile phone. This detail is appreciated. The hotel was nothing as advertised on ***********, when we made our reservations. Firstly, the hotel is listed in *********** as ”BS Hotel”, you will note a quick search on this name does not show any reviews online. Upon arrival we noted the real name is ”Boulevard Side Hotel”, see reviews here (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293934-d7721333-Reviews-Boulevard_Side_Hotel-Baku_Absheron_Region.html). Our first night (Apr. 25) we were not given the room we requested, a double room, but were instead given two single beds and promised we would be changed the next night. The air conditioner did not work in the room the first night, although the hotel states on *********** that they have air conditioner. We were advised by the front desk that temperature would regulate itself-this did not occur. We had to sleep with windows open with excessive outside noise due to it being next to an auto repair workshop/gas station and main thoroughfare in Baku. During the second day (Apr. 26) we were given the originally requested double room, however the room was visibly dirty, with garbage left in the closet and an excessive smell of cigarette. We note the hotel advertises on *********** as non-smoking, however the scent in the room was unbearable and the nightstands had visible cigarette burn marks. Only one ragged towel was left, we are two travelers. The air conditioner did not work in the new room, and we were advised by the property this time that they did not have air conditioner only heater. Please note Baku is currently on summer weather. After the second night of no sleep, we decided to move out and made a new booking on ***********. During the morning of Apr. 27, we advised the lobby of our decision to leave due to the poor state of the hotel and service. Regarding the air conditioner they advised that indeed it was only a heater as it had not been put into what they called ”Summer Mode”. Then they proceed to state we could not check out, I insisted on our decision, and they said they could change the room one more time. We declined and confirmed we would check out due to the state of the hotel. They said they would not reimburse the remaining four nights, we insisted we would dispute this but left as the hotel felt unsafe. We note this type of fraudulent postings are not in accordance with the regulations and standards of ***********. As you will note from my profile I have been a loyal customer and put my full trust on *********** for may years, booking for my personal and business travels as well as family travels. I am sure they listed themselves as “BS Hotel” instead of their real name “Boulevard Side Hotel” to deceive customers into not reading the reviews available online. Definetly do not stay here.

The rooms are renovated and large. The hotel has just superior location! Everything you may be interested in as a tourist or business- traveler you can find in just a few blocks around. It was also important for me that the location is really safe. Despite the hotel is small its team seems really professional. Breafasts are good and fresh. Room has every day cleaning. I faced several organizational problems during my stay in Baku and the manager Huseyin as well as the bell-boys werw super helpful. I will definitely come once again and suggest this place to my friends.

In general, everything is good: a normal breakfast (yes, there is not enough variety if you stay for a long time, but I didn’t have time to experience it in a week), adequate room, wi-fi, excellent staff and price. The room was a little tired (a couple of stains on the carpet, a scratched cabinet), but everything in the bathroom was new + consumables were regularly updated and the main furniture was in excellent condition. The main disadvantage is the location: the bus stops that go from/to the center are close and run frequently, but to get to the stops you have to make your way through parked cars at services, car dealers and tire shops. As a result, I left for OT in the morning and returned by taxi.

Arrived at the hotel at 4 o'clock in the morning, the front desk is still there. Hotel health is very good, next to the Marriott Hotel, the room is large, a good stay experience, you have to bring toiletries, Austrian hotels, and are close to the beach.
