When I arrived, the energy of the desk receptionist was not welcoming. She seemed to be having a really bad day. She gave us our room, and it was not as expected. There were dirty walls that had boogers and stains, the bathroom had growing mold, the carpet was really dirty with a lot of spots, and when you entered the room, it smelled of cigarette and urine. On the booking the room states no smoking. We asked the receptionist to switch our rooms, but insisted that there were no more rooms available. When I called before arriving, I was told that there are other rooms that were available, and that once I arrived I could be accommodated for any open room. Also the receptionist was being so rude she even lied and told us her name was Stephanie, but it was actually Jordyn. I asked her multiple times to change my room and she also suggested that I just can cancel the room and have my money refunded back. In the end she told me that the room was canceled, but it wasnt and I was told by supervisor Nemo and Manager Desiree that I was only going to get refunded only half price of the room. I did not stay at the hotel at all for to still be charged a night. There were also other guests that cancelled their room because it was not up to par nor clean. I was told half the refund, but they actually charged my account in full still. I will never visit nor stay at this La Quinta again.
