This could be an amazing complex but misses the mark in almost every respect. Too, too sad. In an ideal world it would be sold to an owner with hotel experience a vision to improve. A small amount of investment could transform the venue. The good. This is still remarkable vale for money. The breakfast is well prepared. The central pool side area is clean and well laid out. The gardens are mostly well kept. Evening meals were good and remarkable value. The rooms were basic but acceptable. The staff were friendly. The bad – You will not be told there is a good breakfast option if an almost inedible buffet is out for visiting groups. The Wi-Fi is very flaky to non-existent. The shower was cold for the first 2 days and it was very difficult to get the problem solved. The logic of a simple room change was just not iin the staff vocabulary. The gym had excellent but almost unusable machines. They were rusty and grubby with much wear and tear. The beach side toilets were unusable. The beach itself had mountains of plastic and rubbish on it. Parts of the hotel were shabby in an unnecessary way. Some of the friendly staff were unable to solve very simple problems. With so little extra thought this could be an excellent venue

I stayed here one night and decided not to renew. I will give you the pros and cons. You can make up your own mind. Pros: I paid 50 US dollars a night. The hotel is on the beach. The views are beautiful. It has a nice huge gym (open from 8 AM to 8 PM) which is basically sitting on top of the ocean. The views from the gym are spectacular - better than what you would get from a 400 dollars a night hotel in Hawaii. Free breakfast which included fried eggs, oat meal, sausages and tomatoes. You can sit outside and eat your breakfast with gorgeous views of the ocean. Cons: my room was really old with all kinds of water stains on the walls. There was no electric kettle or any equipment to make my own coffee/tea in the room. There is no safe. They say something like: "leave your valuables in a safe deposit box at the reception". The shower was ice cold. I used the shower at two different times, in the morning and after my work out and the water was ice cold on both occasions. There was no juice or fruits available at breakfast. I had to ask the waiter for milk, and I was brought a small glass of milk. The Wi-Fi is good in the room, but non existent as soon as you step out of the room. No Wi-Fi in the reception area or the gym. There is no water available in the gym. The sign says: "bring your own water and towel".

The hotel is absolutely visually stunning. The grounds are well maintained by some of the hardest working people you'll ever meet! The rooms are kept immaculate by the housekeeping staff. It's in a wonderful location overlooking the Atlantic ocean too. The breakfast is kind of a take on English breakfasts but kind of misses a little even though it is all cooked really well. When you come, Billy is your go to man. He helps out so much with requests for help and even found us a car to take us out for half the price of a taxi. If you use him, his nickname is happiness and a safe and considerable driver.

My family and I had the privilege of being invited to the most beautiful wedding we have ever seen. The hotel is amazing and during the celebrations many of its different outdoor areas were utilized. During the six days of our stay, the staff did their outmost to fulfill our every need, were very polite and eager to please. Our rooms were on the ground floor near the swimming pool. The beds were very comfortable, large towels soft, plenty of complimentary bottled water available and fresh fruit and cookies were appreciated. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with made to order eggs/omelets and even LAWAZA coffee. The only complaint I have concerns the kid play area. Service and staff is wonderful. Thank you very much for making our stay comfortable and amazing

Seedy Touray is the best Customer care service provider I have ever met in the Gambia. He is excellent, makes sure you're looked after, makes sure you're comfortable and this is awesome 👌 and with a smile always on his face.. He is a great personality. Tropic garden hotel is an awesome place to be at peace with yourself in the Gambia. The Aura and the location is Superbly set. My kids and I have really enjoyed the two weeks we spent together there. Very friendly Staff. Until next time ...

I celebrated my wedding in this hotel on 27th of April 2022 from 3pm to 11pm (cocktail+diner). Although the location is nice, the staff and direction are not honnest and not friendly at all. Cheating guests in wedding context is horrible and lack of respect beyond everything. Beyond the negotiated lump sum for the buffet, I agreed a payment for the drinks as per real consumption along the party and against a proper drinks bill a the end of the party. We discovered some days later that the bartender and some accomplices added on the bill various drinks that my guests never ordered. We claimed our money further this scandal but the Director never paid me back and told us a fake story to cover his staff members abuse. My smartphone has also been stolen this same night. Once again, even if the place is beautiful, doing business with such "Thiefs" is not recommended . My tour operator also cancelled all upcoming businesses with this hotel further this complete lack of honnesty (from bottom to top staff). In addition, observing a Director not taking any drastic measures is a true scandal. This last also tried several times during preparation phase to change our deals but thanks to our recored notes we were able to remind him what the agreements were. DO NOT GIVE ANY PENNY TO THIS HOTEL !
