I liked staying here. Very scenic, unrushed and the staff are friendly and attentive. My room was spacious and quiet. With firm bed and pillows I was able to get a decent sleep. The hotel is next to Cape Point Beach so it was nice to go out and interact with the locals. The hot water wasn't that hot though. All in all I would stay here again if back in The Gambia.

Had a lovely weeks stay for my birthday in March. Nice, quiet location. Temperature around 30°c. Rooms a little dated but clean & comfortable. Expect the odd mosquito bite at night in your room if you forget to ask Reception to arrange for your room to be sprayed with repellent in the evening. Lovely beach but expect to be approached by the odd person wanting you to visit their juice bar nearby etc. You can change your money either at the hotel Reception or at one of the bureau de changes which are a minutes walk from the hotel and at a slightly better rate. You can get a pack of water for your room from one of the shops just by the hotel & there are the recommended green taxis available from outside the hotel. There is a spa onsite where you can get your nails done at a fraction of the price in the UK. You will need to save 1400 Dalassi for your airport departure tax or £20/€20. We booked B&B as we wanted to eat elsewhere for lunch & dinner. The buffet breakfast was amazing & plentiful with absolutely everything available for anyone's taste. We usually enjoyed our lunch/dinner at Calypso the nearby restaurant where you could watch them feed the crocodiles daily at 4pm & also catch a glimpse of a few monkeys. The food was delicious. Will probably return again next March as we had such a lovely time. Note: Expect to tip from time to time!

The rooms are a really nice size and cleaned every day. The grounds of the hotel are kept really well too. The beach is stunning and the juice guys and fruit ladies are lovely. The hotel staff are so lovely Caddy and Malik at the pool bar, Lamin and the rest of the entertainment staff are really great fun and we played lots of pool competitions. Lamin took us on a fantastic boat trip up the river Gambia. The food in the hotel was really nice every day, always found something nice to eat, without it being overwhelming. Drinks were good as well. They also do an afternoon tea by the pool around 4pm, which was a nice little touch. We used Smiley from the tour guides outside the hotel in orange shirts, he took us to the crocodile sanctuary and the monkey park, which we loved. We were all inclusive but did venture out for food too. Calypso bar and the Indian were really nice. The weather was beautiful for February and only a 6 hour flight from the UK. We had such a great holiday and have already booked to go back next year, this time for 10 days and with another family as we couldn't recommend it enough. We cannot wait!!

The hotel grounds are beautiful kept, rooms cleaned to a high standard every day. The food is buffet style and there is enough of a selection for everyone. The salads and Gambian food section were excellent. The staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing is too much effort for them. The only downside is the harassment on the beach. The vendors just do not leave you alone especially if you’re a lady travelling on your own. Do take in a massage, excellent price and massage.

Also like to mention a bar man Andolin also goes by the name king Wazza he was the best barman so helpful and friendly he should be a permanent member of staff. This hotel is an absolute gem and our holiday was fantastic. The room was large if slightly dated, but perfectly functional with air con that worked efficiently and quietly. There is a useful fridge and a kettle with tea/coffee sachets that are replaced daily. The bed was huge and although the quilt isn't quite big enough it was very comfortable. Sheets and towels are changed regularly and you can get a pool towel each day for sunbathing. The grounds and pool area are beautiful and maintained every day. Monkeys and unusual birds regularly visit and were fascinating to watch, the dawn chorus was very interesting! We were there over Easter and never had an issue getting a sunbed at any time of day. You can also have a sunbed at the beach where the juice ladies pop by regularly with their menu. We went bed and breakfast as we like to eat out and support the local community and had plenty of choice each morning which included an egg station for freshly cooked omelettes etc. The entire staff are professional and fabulous. A mention must go to the entertainment team especially Ibrahim that does an aqua class and play darts and pool if anyone wants it. Each evening there is either local or traditional entertainment at the hotel. The Calypso restaurant next door does incredible seafood and is well worth a visit. You can change money if you need to just outside the hotel and you will get a good rate at Mr Fix It. Here you will also find a guy called Jimmi/Lamin who can arrange trips at good prices and who will give you lots of local information.

Just back from Ocean Bay Hotel on Cape Point as part of a family holiday to The Gambia. Lovely place on a very quiet part of the coast - makes for an ideal stay. Cape Point is a really beautiful and unspoilt part of the world. Very grateful to Magic Eyes and Jelly who kept our kids entertained all week. All the staff were great fun to be with. The food was great and the rooms were very secure, with a/c and thankfully mosquito free. For bird lovers, I'd recommend speaking to Dawda Camara at Calypso Restuarant - He is an excellent bird guide who we went out with many times locally Really excellent place with great people and nature. Our only regret is not spending more time there.
