Hotel Punta Est

Disappointing is how I’d describe this holiday. The room was clean but basic don’t expect whistles & bells even though you pay extra for sea view. Breakfast was pleasant and on terrace but you’ll have to pay €10 if you want boiled or poached eggs or an omelette 😂 you’ll also have to pay extra for freshly squeezed orange juice at €8 😂. If you book as half board (even though the Tui website advertises A La Carte dining you won’t receive the A La Carte menu you’ll be presented with a half board menu which is very hit & miss! Some nights the food was nice and some nights it isn’t. The half board menu is not extensive so don’t get excited about your evening meal! The bread most nights was stale. Please also don’t expect to be given the opportunity to sit on the “dining terrace” as Tui advertise as you’ll be told no! Apparently it’s reserved for off the street guests or those who have booked BB in the hotel and not for those lowly half board guests! The crockery sent out to the terrace is also of a superior quality. We watched lovely crockery and “fresh bread” being sent out to the terrace every night. You felt like 2nd class guests compared to the terrace diners! On some occasions we read the menu we were presented with & left and ate out at restaurants within Baia & those who would allow us to sit on a terrace! You will be allocated with the same table every night. The pool was lovely, not enough beds sadly 20 pairs of beds at most so if you don’t manage to get a bed in the morning you won’t get one until 5-6pm. Sadly you still get bed reservers with their towels even at this establishment. Most staff pleasant, Roberto in the restaurant and breakfast was exceptional. Had a professional but efficient friendly manner and a complete credit to the hotel. Alina our room attendant/cleaner, so lovely, so helpful. The bar staff Viola and Denarto excellent and attentive. The head waiter was fond of his own voice and his opinions. My husband & I laughed every night at the head waiter and chef who buzzed around the hotel owners like bees around a honey pot instead of paying attention to their paying guests it was hilarious. We will return to Baia but not to this hotel and definitely not with Tui. The walk to the beach is short and very handy the bed prices are €33-39 euros for 2 card or cash. The beach is beautiful.

We got to the hotel and park right out front and brought our luggage up the stairs to the front desk reception. We told them we had a car and they said they offered $10 parking for the day. So we went back to our car to park it 10 minutes later and there was a $18 parking ticket on our car. The hotel should inform guest right away especially when they know they have a car simply saying “hey there is free 15 minutes of parking on the machine outside to help with check in” or let guest know that parking enforcement is serious and that you should move your car immediately! When I showed them the $18 ticket the front desk could care less. It’s a terrible way for a guest to start their stay at the hotel. Even after the fact even if they can’t help with the parking ticket they could’ve showed they cared and made us feel better by doing something very simple. Offering a free glass of champagne, offering a free $10 night parking, literally anything to try to make up for the unfortunate situation, but instead nothing. Then on their hotel site and online when you Google Hotel Punta Est it stats breakfast hours are from 7:30am to 10:30am. I attached photo proof of it. I get to the breakfast at 10am and it’s closed. The hotel needs to update their breakfast times online so this doesn’t happen to guest. A very easy and simple fix that isn’t done here. I didn’t get to eat.

Went with TUI staying on a garden room. The room was clean and comfortable and was a great place to stay. The Hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was really good with distinctive Italien/local dishes. Service was excellent. Admit I would have liked some rolls or a toasting device at breakfast, but there was a good choice.

Hotel grounds and location are in a great setting and very clean with helpful, friendly staff. However the hotel has no bar open before 6pm(during our staff in month of may) so if you want anything alcoholic to drink you have to walk to a local bar or restraunt. Breakfast is basic with same few choices every day with no variations. Outside pool terrace area is very picturesque but pool is not heated and if early in season it was freezing! We had a good trip and a lovely part of sardinia to visit.

Undoubtedly the best hotel we stayed in Italy! Large room, exceptional cleaning service and attentive and efficient staff. Not to mention that everything is new and works perfectly, unlike the vast majority of hotels in Italy. I recommend it without thinking twice!

Location of this hotel is fantastic, right in the centre of Baja Sardinia. Pool and communal areas were beautiful with amazing views. Garden studio was rustic and homely and great for the two of us, especially when it rained with the kitchenette. It could’ve done with a bit of doing up and the bathroom smelled somewhat damp on arrival. Also has a view of the car park but beautiful mountains in distance. Staff were on the whole nice. Had heavy rain one day and so were hoping to get some lunch at the hotel. This wasn’t possible and staff weren’t very accommodating. That being said some staff were lovely but others seemed less active to help. Breakfast was the what you’d expect but not standout. Lunch menu was poor and expensive. Drinks from the bar were lovely. Parking at the hotel but it was €10 and you had to pre-book. No iron in the room or from reception, ironing service was for a fee.
