L'En Vert

Although we emailed prior to arriving there was no reply & no one there & no obvious entry. I noticed a couple of people on top of the ‘fire escape’ at the left hand side. They were guests and told me there was a lock box under the stairs, gave me the code & we got in. The room & bathroom was really clean & comfortable . The tevision was all French Channels which was disappointing . Luckily the internet was good so we watched that. Couldn’t pass it to the the tiny tv though. The kitchen was very well equipped. We had our own labelled shelf in the fridge containing orange juice, a few pats of butter , a couple of small pots of jam & some yoghurt. In a cupboard we had a very small sliced loaf of Lidl bread. There were tea bags & coffee & muesli & cereal but NO MILK!! Just what is the point in all those options with NO MILK ? Also there was no local produce just as cheap as they could get it. Never saw the owner just left my key in the lock box where I found it. If you have a problem with steps especially see through ones give it a miss. I also felt that if you’re not French you aren’t welcome even though my French was not that bad. Would I stay here again - No

Quirky with a local feel. No one to let us in, another guest opened the lockbox. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was complete, shower was good. Breakfast was help yourself, bread, jams, yoghurts, orange juice, tea and coffee, but no milk! Kitchen was well equipped, oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, coffee makers, etc. Bedroom was quiet with blackout shutters and a small french television. The whole place was quirky, with a local feel. Expensive for what it was. Definitely not a Holiday Inn. Access via an external stairway.
