Was there for 2 nights for the first time. A calm quiet town just at the Swiss borders with a beautiful path along the river. if you are in the area, this is a recommended place. staff at the lobby bar was very nice and welcoming. (2.20)

We had lunch in the restaurant's garden in the lovely warm weather. The extensive menu offers very tasty dishes for meat and fish lovers. There is also something for vegetarians. We opted for an asparagus dish and veal strips. Both tasted excellent. The service was extremely friendly. The prices are in the upper third. The only negative point: a bottle of mineral water cost €5.50, which we found very expensive.

Hotel ideally located. Very calm. Comfortable and spotless room. Discreet and friendly staff. Wide reception hours. The breakfast is very complete. The restaurant's meals are very good. Good value for money.

With great anticipation, we entered the hotel garden, which was already full of dining guests, where my companion had previously enjoyed drinking her tea. There you have a great view of the Rhine and the old wooden bridge. We were first welcomed by a friendly gentleman who immediately informed us that no more hot meals could be served due to a lack of kitchen staff. After asking in the kitchen, he was able to answer our questions and request for a salad/ice cream option. He served us quickly and in a friendly manner. Unfortunately, the quality of service changed later when the table was cleared quite abruptly and my companion hurried to the existing lift, which leads to the toilets, which are otherwise only accessible via a steep staircase. She was rudely directed to the stairs by the employee for no apparent reason. We will not be visiting this restaurant again for the time being. There are enough hotels and restaurants with better trained staff in Bad Säckingen.

Das Hotel Goldener Knopf hat Anfang Jahr den Besitzer gewechselt Es ist nicht mehr ein 4*, sondern hat irgend einem Green- Zertifikat Das Restaurant gehört nicht mehr dazu, ist ausgelagert worden. Somit isst man das Frühstück ``auswärts`` (Rührei kostet extra), ist deutlich schlechter und abräumen darf man dann auch noch selber
