Hotel Herzog Georg

Seldom have I experienced such a great hotel at a relatively reasonable price. Everything was perfect. Very nice rooms, which were obviously renovated not long ago, tastefully decorated in green and yellow. My room consisted of two beds, a refrigerator, a TV that was almost too big and a spacious bathroom with a shower and toilet. The staff were super nice, made a lot of effort and were always ready for a short or longer chat. The restaurant, which has been open since last year, was also very good. There were Thuringian specialties as well as "normal" dishes such as schnitzel or burgers. The hotel is located "in the middle of the small town". It is 200 meters to the new spa gardens and about 300 meters to the shops. There are several bus stops within a 300 meter radius. The nearest train station is about 6 km away in Immelborn, but there is also a direct bus line to Eisenach, although this can be heavily used by hikers.

We were there for the second time and this time we booked an apartment with breakfast. The apartment was very well equipped. Whether it was breakfast, eating in the beer garden or something delicious from the menu, it was simply great.

We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 p.m. due to a flight delay. We sent messages reporting the problem and asking if there was an alternative to access. They didn't even bother to answer and we had to find another hotel to spend that night. The next morning, AFTER READING MY MESSAGES, they canceled the entire reservation without letting us stay the second night and also refused to refund our money. From Booking Customer Service they tried to keep us the second night and told them that they had already hosted other people. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!

Zeer ruime 2-persoonskamer in het nieuwbouwgedeelte voorzien van zithoek, keuken, moderne badkamer en balkon. Het ontbijt was opzich prima, alleen mistte ik croissants. De 1e avond ook gegeten in het restaurant van het hotel. Overige restaurants binnen paar 100m en tegenover het hotel zit meteen een italiaans restaurant. Parkeren kan op het parkeerdek of garage onder het gebouw voor 3 euro per dag. Enige minpunt was het uitzicht vanaf het balkon op het parkeerdek. Dit geeft geen echt vakantiegevoel.

Wir haben hier mit unseren Hunden gewohnt. Leider durften sie nicht in den Frühstücksraum. So mussten wir die ganze Woche in Schichten Frühstücken. Schönes Hotel, etwas außerhalb vom Ortskern. Nicht alle Zimmer sind per Fahrstuhl zu erreichen. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig. Vom Bahnhof war es ein sehr langer Fußweg.
