We took this accommodation in this cute family hotel for one week skiing, at my friend's recommendation. So, we reserved half board with skipasses. The hotel is very well situated with private parking and bus stop in front of it. After daily activities at lot of ski-slopes we have usually relaxed at outside swimming-pool or in different saunas. The food was excellent - buffet continental breakfast with enough everything for everyones taste and for dinner were option for pre-order beetween 3-4 whole meals in 3 courses- starter, main, desert (including vegetarian). Room were spacios, very clean, and stuff were very very friendly, helpful and they all smiled. So we are too. Thank you. We will come again. It's very good value for money.

Had the best full body massage by Karen, she was so knowledgable. I suffer with tension headaches and she gave me some fantastic advice on managing them through massage and cupping. It really was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. My partner agrees he felt amazing after it too. Highly recommend. Thanks again!

I visited to ski in the week before Christmas and it had snowed enough for a fair bit of the Gastein Valley ( as in the 4 sections sport to dorf-gastein) to be skiable for most of the day in a mixed weather week. The hotel really suited me. The people ( family business...long may it continue) were lovely and so keen to help, especially with my non-existent German language skills. The pool- with- a- view is small but nice after a day on the fairly tough ( for their grades- in parts) pistes...as we're the saunas. Be prepared to make use of the buses (and do your homework re the timetables) if you don't have a car. The food( for a veggie) was great...I have been on a few half board ski weeks that say " caters for vegetarian "& this was the best. It would be interesting to visit during peak times( there were no queues and only a few non-solo lift trips...which were efficient as advertised) to see if the laid-back old fashioned but with enough/strong modern touches vibe still exists.

We booked one night stay at the Alpenblick hoping the weather would be beautiful and we could sit round the pool. The weather was vile and who knew Bad Gastein in May is like a ghost town! We arrived by train and took bus 555 to the hotel - €2.40 one way. The hotel is a good 20 mins walk from the train station and it is a challenging walk. The hotel is old fashioned, the staff were lovely. We booked a standard double and that’s what we got despite it not being full. Our room was 317 which overlooked the road and entrance - no beautiful Mountain View’s for us! The hotel has lots of public rooms for sitting, reading etc, a very small hotel bar which is open at this time of year until 10am. You can get dinner at the hotel but we chose to eat out. Make sure you get your Gastein card to get bus discount. We only found out after 3 trips. This means you get unlimited travel for a day for €1.50 however the buses don’t run late. The last one is around 6pm and they are also every hour. The room was comfy enough, the pillows were like teabags though. Breakfast we felt like we were told off a bit. We asked where to sit and were told anywhere without a stone as you didn’t come for dinner last night! Bear in mind dinner wasn’t included! Breakfast was continental and no one came to ask if we wanted anything cooked. We went at 0930 apparently breakfast finishes at 1015 but they took the coffee away at 0945. There wasn’t anything wrong with the hotel - it’s not their fault they are miles from the centre but it was just average and I don’t feel worth £132 for the night. You ideally want somewhere near the train station area.

We stayed here in March 23. The hotel is located about 15min walk from the main town / station area. It is a very nice hotel with steam room, sauna and small outdoor pool - all lovely after skiing. We had a wonderful ensuite room (208) which was large, had a balcony and had great views over the valley. The food was good and varied. There is a small bar area but plenty large enough for a few post skiing drinks with the other guests. If you wanted more bars it isn't very far to walk into town. The ski buses stop right outside the hotel but you do need to be on time (every 30mins in peak morning & afternoons), as they do not wait if you are late. All of the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Big shout out to Peter who made sure we had everything we needed (even Bombardino's!). Boot warming room and outside ski hut were good. We would return again.

Second visit to this lovely hotel and will certainly visit again. Family run hotel with friendly helpful staff and even a wave off for the first ski bus which stops at the door. Rooms cosy and reasonably spacious with plenty of storage for clothes and gear. Heated boot room by front door with ski lockup just outside at the end of the hotel. Food is not your fancy fare but good wholesome meals and you never go hungry. Breakfast from 07:30 and dinner from 18:30 and a dining room with stunning views over the Gastein valley. Walking into Bad Gastein is fairly short cutting through a few lanes and walkway but be prepared for a good uphill hike back. Then again this is the Alps so don’t expect it to be flat😂😂 Thank you to all the staff and hopefully back again soon👍

A beautiful traditional family run hotel in an amazing location. Greeted on arrival with a warm friendly welcome. Arrived at a very busy time bit were still made to feel very welcome and a valued guest. Given a tour of all the hotels facilities including the spa area. For €3 we could hire a robe to use for the outdoor heated pool. Our stay included breakfast and dinner. Fabulous choice of fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals, cake, eggs and several choices of breads. Fruit juices, teas and coffees were served. The breakfast buffet was kept well refreshed. Dinner offered a salad bar, starter, main and dessert. Wide choice of meals and plenty of vegetarian options. Served at your table. The ski bus stopped outside the hotel, it was so convenient. Heated boot room and ski storage outside. Large car park. The hotel was immaculate and so-clean. Daily maid service ad change if towels on request. Our room was small with an outside sitting area, table and chairs. Oodles of constant hot water and an efficient shower. Unfortunately the small ski area by the hotel only opened the day we left, but this was due to lack of snow prior to our arrival. During our weeks stay we had snow daily and the conditions improved immensely. Lots of repeat guests at the hotel which speaks of its quality service. If you are considering this as an option please dont hesitate. Its quiet and away from external noise or disturbances. If you are looking for nightlife and entertainment this is not your place. Alpenblick offers a real taste of Austrian hospitality and the surrounding scenery is breath taking

Went for a week's skiing here. The views down the valley are lovely and there's a small outdoor pool that is a treat if you can stand the cold in winter for the short outdoor walk to the pool. That pool was a bit cold when we visited, but after comments from a guest they switched the temperature up. There's a small sauna and an even smaller steamroom at the hotel. But the hotel is mainly for tour groups (tours or large families) rather than direct bookers. That's because it's a bit isolated, being 30 minutes' walk from the town, train station, main lifts, etc. Ski buses run every 30 mins at peak times, but the last bus back to the hotel is around 6PM, so don't expect any apres ski in the town unless you want the steep walk back. There's a nearby ski lift (Graukogel) that has old lift chairs that are a bit unreliable (it broke down during our visit and we were left dangling for 40 minutes) and those runs are only open for part of the week (Thursday onwards), and not linking to the main resort. My room was tiny, a disgrace really, being only c7sqm in size. Food is okay but a bit basic. Staff - it's run by a family - are friendly and helpful. The bar is okay but again small. So there are much better choices that are closer to town and the main ski lifts, unless you are travelling with a group and don't mind the compromises. But make sure you don't get a tiny single room if you are by yourself.
