Hotel Salzburger Hof

Lovely old fashioned hotel. Bar area looks great but staff not good at cocktails. Restaurant food excellent with meat fish and veggie choices every night. Very substantial starter buffet as well. Puddings a bit varied though, and no choice. Spa area has lovely views but jacuzzi too cold to spend long in there! Rooms are a decent size and comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Salzburgerhof. The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times and the hotel itself is beautiful. Our rooms were generously sized and everything was exceptionally clean. We were a party of 4 with 3 skiers, I was not skiing for health reasons but was able to make the most of the spa facilities and the well equipped gym, which I generally had to myself! As two of us are vegetarians we were concerned about the food on offer but we needn’t have worried - every evening meal had a vegetarian option that was well considered and delicious (not an afterthought as often happens) and the breakfast buffet was superb. The proximity of the main ski lift worked well for the skiers and I enjoyed so great walks in the valley - can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!

We stayed as a family ( teens) to ski. Good points - it’s close to the main lift ( 4/5mins walk ). You can also rent ski lockers at the lift ( the hotel storage is not very secure as it’s just a big room that anyone can access with any room key). Food for adults was really exceptional. Rooms were like a thousand Austrian/ German hotel rooms anywhere ( do they come as a prefab with carpets included ??). But they were fine. Spa was nice and never seemed too busy. Bar was nice and service very good. Games room for kids was a hit although you can imagine how busy it was in half term week. Bad points- it was extremely noisy at night with a nightclub basically next door and people yelling outside until the early hours. Bring earplugs and resign yourself to sleeping with the window closed or ask for a room away from the Silver Bullet. Towels were tiny and housekeeping a bit random although rooms were initially clean. There was a no shorts dress code in the evening, which annoyed my son intensely as he only wears shorts ( and I had only packed shorts and ski trousers) so the overly officious hotel restaurant maitre d’ who tried to send him back to his room to change had to content himself with disapproving looks all week - after I refused to spend my skiing holiday shopping for some trousers for him so he could attend dinner, as was requested. Bare legs for girls were fine apparently, but not for boys🤷‍♀️. Gym ( as so many hotel gyms ) was poor. One treadmill and a queue of people waiting to use it. Parking - the hotel says it has parking, but it has 5/6 spaces total. So no chance you will be get one unless you arrive at lunchtime! However you can park for free at the ski lift. Would be nice if the hotel told you this up front, rather than just say vaguely ‘ parking is first come first served but there is plenty around’. There is if you know where to look but when you turn up late in the evening, you don’t really want to drive around for an hour looking!!

Vast place but great experience: lovely friendly vib, excellent food with reasonable variety and helpful staff. I had a spacious room but others I saw were very small. Location is also great, probably one of the closest hotels to the ski lifts. If I have one criticism it would be how close the tables in the dining room are to one another. There were unoccupied tables close to us yet we were sitting next to people at either side.

We went here for dinner with a family. 40 euros per person and little kids for free. For a 5 course dinner, with a great buffet and several main courses to choose from. Besides very friendly service l. The hotel has a great atmosphere with live music and a playing corner for kids with loads of toys. A special experience in a special place.

Everything you would want a ski and leisure hotel to be - good service, attentive staff, food good, great rooms and spa, nice spaces and ambience EXCEPT terrible band in the evening. The same band in the bar most evenings pushing out loud, very loud, classics, with no tempering of volume. They were obviously appreciated by some, but so many people disappeared after dinner it couldn’t be everyone liked them. And every evening? And by the way, at tea time the musac was also loud, Blume controlled by the barman.
