Charming location but we found our room (one with a balcony) a bit stuffy as we could not get the AC to work. There was a note taped to the AC that said 10 euro charge to use. I have never seen that before. Shower was small for me. I am 5' 10" 170 lbs and could have used more room. There was no elevator which was not an issue for us but could be for others. Breakfast was good. Nice town and if you do visit, make sure you take the trail to the top where the castle is located.

I booked a room during month of June. The temperature was very hot. The room was advertiste as a "wellness suite". This is what we got: Noisy room: you hear people eating, drinking, and talking till 22:00 hrs. Then, when restaurant closes the owner and his friends gather outside to smoke and talk loudly til past 24:00!!! To silense the outside noise, we closed all windows and turned on air conditioner except it DOES NOT work!!! Next morning, I asked the manager/owner to please turn it on ALL night as it will not work unless the manager turns it on remotely!!! Absurd? Yes!!! Manager did turn the AC on in our room for 2 hours in the evening and it never worked after that during another hot night. Bath towels had mildew, funky smell as if they forgot to wash them from previous guests. I have been traveling through Europe for 4 weeks and this is the only hotel I cannot recommend to anyone. By the way, Germany is a Beautiful country to visit and I will defenitely return.

Shocked by the good taste of this hotel! Beautiful ! The rooms are modern, comfortable, luxurious and in such a small but beautiful city! The receptionist was super attentive and kind. A hotel that made our night special. Super well located, next to a wonderful and welcoming old family tavern. Congratulations on the hotel's employee.

We have never felt so unwelcome as we did here. When we arrived (8pm!!!!!) a sleepy hotel employee opened the door for us, we were neither greeted nor invited in. According to booking, check-in was supposed to be by 6pm. We were delayed due to traffic. The employee (presumably the owner) said that he had supposedly left a message on our voicemail, but this was not the case. Neither was a message sent via booking nor an email sent. We were given the impression that we were definitely not welcome at this late hour (8pm!!!). When we then entered the house, we were told that it would be quite a climb to the room with the large suitcase, and then we were left alone. We were not offered to carry our suitcases up, nor were we wished a pleasant stay or given any other friendly words. We have never experienced anything like this before, it felt like we were invading someone's home and forcing ourselves on them. This famous and so important first impression stuck with us and we could neither enjoy our stay nor feel comfortable.

Eigentlich ein schönes Haus mit wirklich schönen Zimmern, aber wir fühlten uns nich willkommen. Der Empfang war sehr eigenartig. Wir reisten am Freitag gegen 20 Uhr an, eigentlich noch völlig ok. Aber wir fanden ein unbeleuchtetes und abgeschlossenes Haus vor. An einem Seiteneingang konnten wir klingeln und nach längerer Wartezeit erschien ein recht schweigsamer Herr, der uns zu einer anderen Seitentür geleitete und uns die reservierten Zimmer wies. Dann war er auch schon verschwunden und wir erkundeten auf eigene Faust die Räumlichkeiten. Alles wirkte dunkel, still und verlassen… Das Frühstück war hingegen ein Lichtblick. Es gab weitere Gäste, wir waren nicht allein!und die Servicedame war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. Das bizarre Störgefühl kam am Abreisetag zurück, als wir beim gleichen Herren, wohl der Hausherr, bezahlten. Keine Frage, ob es uns gefiel, ob alles in Ordnung war, einzig die Frage, wie wir zahlen wollen und der Hinweis, den Schlüssel abzugeben. Kein vielen Dank und einen schönen Tag, hmmm. Gastfreundlich ist irgendwie anders 🤔
