BEDBUGS – We left with bedbugs, confirmed by a doctor. The hotel ignored my calls and WhatsApp messages. Unacceptable for a hotel where you pay 750 EUR/night (15 000 mxn/night) FOOD – 6 options menu (same for lunch & dinner). Dry tacos with no salsa/avocado. Receptionists admitted this was unmexican but offered no explanation. 8PM BAR & RESTAURANT CLOSED – No food or drinks afterward. Road to the village is unsafe, so you're stuck. BREAKFAST – Basic 3 options (plain eggs, chilaquiles, or pancakes with no toppings). Extra charges for coffee, water, or baby food, despite "included" breakfast. Instagram photos were misleading. SERVICE – No Mexican hospitality. Extra charges for EVERYTHING. At checkout, they tried to force us to sign a waiver against writing a review. Refused, and they yelled about cameras (?!) Not worth the price—avoid!

In this hotel everything is about money. Instead of a warm welcome you are told what everything will cost when you lose or damage it. And we were told that we would not be refunded in case we would leave the hotel earlier (we prepaid everything, why would we want to leave early?). Rooms should be spotless in an hotel with these prices but bathrooms and showers are not. We had large insects in our room and cleaning was very poor. In 1 of our 2 rooms we didn’t have internet during our entire stay. The worse were the receptionist: they are on their phone all the time and totally uninterested in the guests. This hotel is not worth the price they charge. There are much better options near Bacalar.

A hotel without soul We have been there because we read a lot of good reports, but I can tell you this is not right. The hotel is nice the rooms are nice the view is nice but at the end it is a tourist trap. Why? We did not see any person from hotel. The main entrance person did tell us… „Here are many mosquitoes“ This was right! This was the last time which we saw here. Then we go to the beach. There we see a lot of influencer girls 🤮. The guys at the bar are nice. The bar is very expensive! You have no other choice. The next view was the nice rooms. There rooms are very nice!!!!! Would we come back? No!

So this place is fantastic in most aspect including service and location .However a tad bit too rustic for urban folks and a bit on the pricey side for what it offers. First of all there are snake signs everywhere which might freak some people . We also had a small scorpion in the bathroom which I saw while taking a shower. This was not acceptable and the hotel manager brushed it by saying- 'they are not dangerous and yes there are bugs etc ' . Now I am not sure of any scorpion being not dangerous or if scorpions are considered as regular bugs ( I can say this with utter confidence - as have a personal experience with scorpion sting and hospitalization. Also if there are 1 scorpion , they generally have a nest with 8-10 in the vicinity ) He also did not offer any recourse as such. Adding this review for awareness and make the correct decision

A long way to travel from Australia but worth the journey. Relatively new boutique hotel 10-15 minutes out of town making it more exclusive. Nice change from Tulum. It reminds me a bit of Rock House Hotel at Negril in Jamaica. Same same but different. The staff try really hard to please. Rooms spacious and clean design. Comfortable. Restaurant menu is adequate… not cheap… not expensive. Would head into town for lunch or dinner everyday. Some good local restaurants. Guests seem to be a mix of Mexican and European… nice mix up.

Everything from the beginning was perfect, Easy check in, Rooms are really clean and beautiful, i came to realx and chill and it was exactly what i was looking for, Food is great, Erick and Antonio where really great. Thanks for everything, coming soon for sure!
