This tented accommodation was fairly comfortable, though rooms are very close together. The tents are laid out with two on a raised platform, and being tents you can hear everything from the adjoining tent. I could hear the neighbours breathing as they slept! The bathrooms shared a wall and we could hear everything from next door. The bedroom was fairly small but still comfortable. Two queen beds and a small desk with a chair. A kettle but no milk for coffee. The bathroom was large with a snake shower head. There was very little hot water (if any). The deck between the two rooms was lovely, and a very nice place to sit in the afternoon. The staff were lovely and drink prices were good. Food was average. The accommodation is very close to Tarangire National Park, which was an amazing place to visit. We had hyena and elephants walk through camp overnight, and could hear the hyenas and lions.

Just a fabulous place situated in a fantastic park full of beautiful animals. The Masai guards you and are very friendly. The rest of the staff is sooooo nice. The food is very good. The “tents” are super comfortable and you can hear the elephants rocking you to sleep. They prepared a morning meal that we took with us on the savanna that was a king worthy. They were up very early to do that…wow. Perfect place. Forget about that the pool is a little worn down etc. It is not what the place is about. It is people and animals living together.

We stayed there as part of our Kenya, Tanzania tour through Perfect Wilderness Safaris, Nairobi. It was an excellent stay in the forest. On that day, we were the only occupants at the lodge. So, all the staff were at our service! It is at an excellent location. The food was excellent. We totally enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay in Tarangire! The tent suites are very large and comfortable. They are fully furnished and include a bathtub, shower, mosquito nets, electricity and patio. The bed was very comfortable. Wifi is available at reception and in the restaurant/bar. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good.

Nice tented lodge, rooms and beds clean. Very funny bathroom with a giant shark shaped tub… Alacarte menu was not exciting but when there were enough guests there were better food. Still a bit short on the vegetarian side. For safety reasons -animals are around- Masai warriors walked us to our room and back. They were very helping and smiling like the rest of the staff.

Greeted on arrival and given a full brief on the way to do, and not to do things, during our stay as animals roam freely around the grounds during the night. They had various staff to walk you from A to B if required and during the night. Pros and cons to that as you could feel like you weren’t able to be independent and free. However it was for our/your own safety in case. Also had a whistle on your room key should you be in your room and require a staff member to walk you from your room to the main hotel complex. The rooms are a tent set up within a building structure. Very cute and clean. A bathroom is also within the structure so once you’re in you’re good for the night etc. Our bath was a Baobab tree shape with a Hippo head with taps coming out. Not a real tree and hippo! All cast and shaped from likely concrete or similar. It was in keeping with the park and very cute and entertaining. The hotels bar and restaurant are well done. A deffo lack of beers in stock. Only a few large ones for $4 then they ran out and we had to start on the smaller ones at $3 each. I hope that was down to poor stock keeping and not to make more from guests. The pool was a bit poor. No pump was running so the water was still and lacked filtering. Any bugs and bits on top of the water were dealt with by a chap with a net to keep it looking cleaner. The bar and restaurant areas were very nice, clean and tidy too. The pathways around the accommodations were a bit rough. Might be as it’s the end of the raining season and things had washed away. You could see a load of rock and what looked like smashed up tiles that created to the foundations of the path. Plus broken bits of plastic pipe which was used to “protect” electrical cables to the rooms. They could do with getting some sand out to cover the hardcore foundations and those pipes as it made the place look a bit crap. We went for a short walk to the river with one of the hotels guides/security. We saw two elephants on the other side of the river (200/300m away) and were also shown two holes that were the dens for the Hyenas! A lovely location and area but could do with a bit of TLC to the Pool and Pathways to polish it up a bit.

Don't let the name confuse you! “Tented camp” may sound like a rough place to stay, but this is pure luxury. Roika camp was very conveniently placed near the gate of Tarangire national Park (within minutes). My son and I were totally shocked when we saw the impeccable well-kept grounds, the beautiful welcoming hall, the elegant restaurant, with lovely service (by Mr Loiruck and Ms Janet). The architecture is breathtaking, the lounges and bars are really spacious. The restrooms are the cleanest and most well kept I've seen in the region. After the briefing (which included warnings of not to walk alone in the camp because of lions, elephants and leopards) two (real) Maasai warriors escorted to our “tents”. These were very beautiful permanent tents, with roofs and a large comfortable beautiful adjoining bathroom with running hot water. Large comfortable beds with soft sheets and mosquito netting. We had a fabulous dinner, followed by hanging out at the Rhino-bar till late in the evening. Since we wanted to catch the morning activity in the park, we asked for a 5am Breakfast. The staff, without hesitation said: Yes! Though our stay was short, the warm welcome, the beautiful facilities, the professional service, will make this memory a special one for me, and I am hoping to return here one day with the rest of my family.

The hotel is excellent. I think it should be one of the best in Arusha because their hospitality is legendary and amazing. We traveled as a couple for our honeymoon and we found the rooms set for the mood and it was amazing because there were other hotels that tried to do that but apparently this was the best.
