Kyukamura Retreat-Azumino-Hotel Reviews

It was hard to get a reservation, but I finally managed to get one on Friday and headed there with excitement, but the navigation system just took me to the back of the town, and it wasn't like the foot of the mountain as I thought it would be. The TV showed it as if it was in that location, so I was a little disappointed before checking in. I chose the celebratory plan, so when I entered the room, there was a flower decoration in a box that looked like it was made at a 100 yen store on the table, but...I asked for a room with a good view, but there were no such rooms, and they told me I could have a room with a pine forest or a parking lot, so I chose the pine forest because I like greenery. The room with a parking lot view seemed to be a premium room and was custom-made, and the dining room was a semi-private room, but I didn't feel much difference. The food didn't feel like Azumino at all, and while it was said to be locally produced and locally consumed, it was like they had forced Italian food into Japanese food, which didn't suit my taste as a 50-year-old Japanese food lover. The colorful bite-sized dishes seem to be conscious of how they look, so they may be popular with young couples, but I don't think they are suitable for seniors. It would be nice if they served Japanese kaiseki cuisine as well...Access to the surrounding National Azumino Park and Daio Wasabi Farm is not bad, but if you want to experience the essence of Azumino and the quality of its hot springs, the nearby Holiday Inn Azumino might be a better choice.
