I was at the Trois Lys on July 14, 2022 with a tour group. It was very hot and we were promised fans to help with the heat, but only one person received a fan. Our rooms were two tight stairs up and we needed help with our suitcases. My 8 students had three rooms on the top floor, the temperature in the rooms was 93 degrees, there were only little roof windows, opening them was no relief. I shared a room with a colleague, and her bed collapsed under her when she sat on it. all the pieces of wood that help up the mattress, had fallen out. We could not fix it, and leaned the whole bed frame against the wall and she slept on the mattress on the floor. At midnight, my students all had to evacuate their rooms, bedbugs were seen on the mattress in 2 rooms. the teenagers all evacuated with their luggage and slept on the floor in the lobby. They got no sleep at all. In the morning, the tour director confirmed the rooms had bed bugs, and he and were told by the owner, that our group had brought the bedbugs to her hotel. The teenagers had bites that night. When I reported the broken bed, there was no apology, Our group ate dinner at the hotel, which was advertised as an authentic French brasserie dinner. We had to line up at a table and were given a piece of chicken boiled in water, the owner used his fingers (no gloves) to put on our plates, and mashed potatoes. the vegetarians received mashed potatoes and frozen vegetables. There was no bar to order something cold to drink. The wifi did not work in the hotel. Several people in the group saw cockroaches running along the floor in their rooms.
