It’s went down hill. First we could book in as no one was around so we went around Ayr then came back. We were put in a room that wasn’t cleaned at first. Then put next door to a bit cleaner room. The room had a hole in wall, dirty stains on bed base and carpets. The sink plug was stuck and we could wash in it. The plugs were all in extensions. The front window had a big crack in it, the bathroom was worse dirty that we had to buy a bottle of bleach as the toilet had poo ingrained in it. Never stay here again

Checkin was nothing short of farcical. Unfortunately it wasn't a joke

Avoid this place at all cost, the worst dirty grubby dysfunctional place I have ever stayed in, it was a nightmare how dirty this place is, also Margaret the owner was very very drunk, I was watching television in the front room at around 8.00pm Margaret entered and was extremely drunk and demanded that I turned the television off and went to bed. I checked out the next morning and I would never step foot in this place again it really is horrible and it beggars belief that this place isn't closed down.

Nothing in the room was clean, supposedly no smoking room however the room smelt strongly of smoke. Toilet was unclean and smelt strongly of old urine. Nothing in the room was clean except the bed sheets. Coffee supplies mugs and tray were unclean and obviously used before we arrived. Cut our stay from two nights to one as we could not face staying another moment. The smell was the worst bit

Was a bit of a sh*t show, meant to have a double and single bed (me and 2 daughters) ended up with just a double. No shower gel, shampoo in bathroom when asked if any he came with a half bottle of shower gel 😅....WiFi didn't work....room was full of flies, musty not even a hairdryer. No mention of breakfast,no reception or real care shown. For one night I managed but never again. I've paid similar and had amazing experience other places .I'd avoid also one plug socket hanging off.

On visiting this guest house for an overnight stay we arrived to book in was handed key to our room told it was upstairs then left to go up ourselves. We got into room and tried to open window as it wouldn't open my son went downstairs to speak to owner who came upstairs clearly intoxicated as she kept banging the window to open it. It wouldn't open so she said she would go down and get her husband to come up but he never showed up. Also we were supposed to have free WiFi which we never got and also when we booked we were told breakfast was included but when we arrived we were told it would be 5.00 per person xtra. There was no reception no WiFi code I just felt when we asked the owner for help this was too much surely if u run a guest house you should be on hand most of the time. We arrived for breakfast but it was an entirely different person doing it then asked to pay when we left and were overcharged on the whole it was an unpleasant stay wouldn't recommend it to anybody

Having had to stay at Kilkerran Guest House for 4 nights at short notice, the owners were extremely welcoming & went way beyond expectations to assist me during a very difficult & stressful time. The guest house is very homely & I met good people here who I will be keeping in touch with, the room was comfortable, warm & very well priced for the personal attention that you just don’t expect or get at other branded hotels. Husband & wife team together with really lovely staff, in particular Debbie & Libby, make this an excellent place to lay your head. As well as the amazing breakfast ( so much better than the premier inn ), for just a £5, full cooked Scottish breakfast, hot buttered toast, cereals, fruit juice, tea, coffee & as I said the girls are lovely, chatty & made me feel very comfortable. I will be coming back here very soon & I highly recommend this guest house having been in the hotel business myself for 30 years. Thank you so very much Kilkerran Guest House. Xx

My aunt and uncle stayed here for 3 nights at the end of June. Unfortunately their stay wasn't very pleasant. The positives were that the staff were nice as were the breakfasts which were served fresh and hot each morning. However that's as far as the positives go I'm afraid. They had to come to my mums each morning to wash as there was no hot water their entire stay. The bedroom was cold and bedding of poor quality and very thin so that didn't help. The property is in dire need of updating and renovating. Unfortunately they won't be staying again and wouldn't recommend this guest house. Given 2 stars for the breakfast and staff.
