Mercure Ayr Hotel

Stayed here on 2 occasions, February and March. Fantastic location to town centre and plenty of bars and eating places close by. The staff are very helpful. Darren, that works nights, is an absolute star. We had a few very late nights and Darren was always there with a smile and a conversation, he definitely is an asset to the hotel. Rooms were cleaned everyday and always fresh towels and toiletries. Used the pool and steamroom in February but it was closed for refurb on March visit, but was made aware of this before arriving. Can't wait to return.

We booked a one night stay here on a whim, and we're glad we did - what a find! Great hospitality from every one of the friendly staff we met, a very comfortable, quiet and restful room, a bar busy in the afternoon with sociable local people and even an evening quiz - a Tuesday fixture - which was great fun. Not least, we loved their very own Ayr Brewing Company ales - seriously delicious! We firmly intend to be back soon for a longer stay, ideally with our bikes, and to enjoy the restaurant, which we couldn't manage this time. Thanks - see you all soon.

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Changing room for swimming pool is very small and has no secure locker. It needs to get updated

Rooms were clean and adequate. Staff attentive and friendly. However, there was a Wedding on the same day and when we arrived for our evening dinner, we didn't get our starters until 8.45pm when our table was booked for 6.30. Although, to be fair to the staff, we were 25minutes late. We had an 20mth old boy with us, who sat very patiently waiting for a pizza. This took 1hr 45mins to be brought out. We were then told that the Chef was having a meltdown in the kitchen.Cant fault the waiting staff, but if you want to starve to death or eat at midnight then this is the place to go.
