Hotels Near Avignon Centre in Avignon

I stayed at the Avignon Grand Hotel with my partner from 12 to 16 September 22 there were however a number of short comings. The first of these was that the room we had been provided with was infested with mosquitoes - we had discovered this in the middle of the night after hearing the typical mosquito sounds and in the morning we had noticed we had numerous mosquito bites on our bodies. I had complained to the hotel front desk, the staff however appeared dismissive, my fundamental point to them was that the room should have been properly disinfected of the insects prior to making it available to customers. Secondly, breakfast in the hotel was of the bare minimum, in terms of hot cooked food , only bacon and scrambled eggs were available, the latter was of poor quality and almost resembled a paste as the eggs were cooked in far too much cream and milk.Cereal, bread, croissants, yogurt and some fruit were also available. No hot water was available in the hotel in the morning of the 16 September 22. Lastly, all the TV channels were in French, not even one channel was available in English. We had booked this hotel on the understanding it was of 4 stars, given however the shortcomings above together with the standard and quality that were below customer expectations it is difficult to see how the 4 star rating and price being charged was justified.

We loved this hotel! We left yesterday and miss it already. The whole building is charming. Think teddy bears, flowers, even an old typewriter my kid got a kick out of. Public areas include a very small lounge by the reception and a breakfast room with a big window overlooking a small street. The receptionists were friendly and helpful and most spoke some English. There is a small lift up to the rooms as well as a twisty interior staircase my son also enjoyed. Each floor has a couple of levels with a few stairs between each, so if you have mobility issues, be sure to request a room that doesn't require any stairs. Rooms: We had the junior suite for 3. (More than 3 would be quite cramped.) It has a double bed and a chair folded out into a twin. There is also a desk, two chairs, small table, chest of drawers, small closet, and additional clothes rack. So we were able to unpack most of our stuff and put it away. There is a small WC and bathroom with sink, drawers and shelving, bath/shower and clothesline. There's a small fridge mostly stuffed with minibar items, but we were able to cram in a couple of our own items. There were several windows but it did get rather dim in the evenings once the sun went down. The windows open directly onto a ledge, no screen, which might be concerning if you have a very inquisitive or adventurous toddler. We slept with a window open for a couple of nights and I did get a few bug bites, but I am one of those people who's irresistible to mosquitoes and very allergic; my companions were not bothered. The temperature was comfortable in late June and we didn't feel the need to try the A/C or heat. Amenities: Tea selection, instant coffee, real coffee; teapot and coffee machine; condensed milk, real and fake sugar. 2 teacups, 2 espresso cups, 2 spoons. Bathroom provided soap and combo shower gel/shampoo; no conditioner. Breakfast is an amazing buffet: Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon and sausages, croissants, pain au chocolate, brioche, bread, pickles, olives, tea, coffee, espresso machine, fresh squeezed orange juice, milk, soy milk, other juices, cheeses, cold meats, fruits (strawberries, watermelon, pineapple), veggies, etc. It runs 'til 11 and even on the day we showed up late, they kindly gave us a ton of food. Location: This could be a pro or a con, depending on your preferences. It's right off the Place de l'Horloge, which has a ton of cafes and restaurants and glaciers and a cute little carousel. It's steps from the Palais de Papes. That is all very convenient, but it also means you hear all of the activities of the Place at night: late-night revelry (there was a big music festival Friday night and the band was...not great) and early-morning deliveries and such.

The room is very large and very comfortable... also very clean service. Parking is free. Absolutely enough to use the terrace. Very comfortable. The hotel is only 10 minutes away from Avignon. It is convenient for the first time because it is not a self-driving Avignon hotel. The price is more than twice that of this house. The room is not so big.

This is a newly renovated and truly beautiful hotel. There is not a blemish in any of the renovation work, the finishes are beautiful, and the rooms are exceptionally clean. It also has excellent showers, air conditioning, et cetera. Most importantly, the stuff is clearly aware they are managing important asset and are wonderful, more than meeting the expectations set by the hotel. My constructive criticism would lie outside the hotel- the town is beautiful but is significantly limited in terms of restaurant options; the menu of the comptoir bistro is exceedingly narrow to accommodate the different types of patrons that would like to enjoy la mere and chateauneuf du pape. Excellent! We were very! warmly welcomed at the reception, before we could not reach it because of a blocking the access road to the hotel and our Navi found no way. After a call at the hotel, a staffer came running from there! and opened the lock and led us alongside our car to the hotel. He then accompanied my husband to the parking place, because it was complicated to the reserved parking place in a large hall because of an event with a quite high dignity car, for which the police had blocked everything. This was an unusual event in Orange, but we were very helped from the hotel with the car. Our junior suite was very large with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was the largest we had in 6 weeks of French holiday, all perfectly equipped, classic style, but with very beautiful pads/dls. The shower was very large and nothing was wet outside and the floor of the tile in the shower was not smooth, but very safe (much ! better than in most other hotels). Shower was a pleasure there! Everything was beautifully furnished, NOT as in another guest review written “loveless”, that is not true. The heating worked well (November) and you could sleep at open window, so beautifully quiet it was. We don't have breakfast there, so no opinion about it. Location perfect in the center. A wonderful stay, absolutely recommendable, thank the hotel and its staff!!

Hôtel réservé pour déplacement professionnel. Pratique car dans la zone d’activité et facile d’accès en sortant de l’autoroute. Bon petit déjeuner. Petit bémol mauvaise isolation sonore les personnes du dessus sont arrivées tard et on entend les pas avec leurs chaussures. On entend aussi les portes des autres chambres claquer lorsqu’elles se ferment. Ça réveille

We stayed one night at this property before going on a river cruise. We arrived before check in time but the hotel owner was there and arranged to get our room ready for us. When she saw the size of our luggage, she upgraded us to a larger room. The room was still pretty small, but it's an historic building so that's to be expected. It was very comfortable, safe and quiet and met all our needs. The decor was very pretty. The restaurant was very good, with many of the foods made in their own kitchen. They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy which was a big bonus for us. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, with a glass of wine, watching all the activity on the street. The location is perfect. A short and easy walk from the train station. And right inside the walls of the Old Town. Lots of quaint historic streets to stroll. The staff made this the perfect hotel for us. The owner was there much of the time. The desk staff and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. They were all very patient with my attempts to speak French, but they were all much more bilingual than me. Being understood wasn't a problem. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!

Standard express hotel, same chain of rooms are almost the same. The front desk is not 24 hours, but there is a self-service key picker at the door, which is more convenient. There are many supermarkets and restaurants around.

Hôtel très chaleureux , moi et mon conjoint avons passé un moment agréable, des employés très souriants et sympathique avec leurs clients. Les petits déjeuners sont délicieux et généreux avec une gentille jeune fille, je conseille vivement cette hôtel pour ceux qui sont de passage.

We spent a very hot night this Friday 7 July 23.heureusement air conditioning was effective , the very sweet and clean draps the very good litter . In any case , the staff were kind and diligent to respond to us after a forget of my pair of glasses , at least I thought it was. The pair of glasses is found elsewhere but thank you very much for calling me on the phone and by mail
