The Hotel Le Maxime, BW Signature Collection is located on the banks of the River Yonne, the Quai de la Marine, formerly known as Quai Bourbon, which start from Tournelle Bridge to Lebeuf Street.
The buildings along the wharf were built during the First Empire.
This large building served for many years as a salt warehouse, storing salt from the salt flats of the Franche-Comte. It was then bought by Mr. Maxime Forutne who gave the Hotel its name.
The hotel is fully air conditioned and has 25 rooms and 1 suite all equipped with a private bathroom with a toilet. The rooms also have a mini-bar, flat-screen television with international channels and complimentary Wi-Fi. Our hotel also features 24 hour room service, an elevator and a private garage.
For the convenience of family reunions and business events the hotel features a private room with free Wi-Fi and video projector for up to 30 people.

Excellent location just at the bank of River Yonne and very close to the old town and the bridges where you can take some of the most scenic photos. The slight disappointment was that the car park was full. So we have to park at the parking meter opposite the hotel.

We were enroute from Burgundy to Paris. The hotel has character, unlike the typical chain. The building is old, and this creaky floors are all over the hotel. We didn't get a view of the canal, but I can imagine the rooms with a view of the canal would be much more pleasant. We had rooms facing the parking lot. We only stayed for one night, and didn't really use any of the hotel facilities. The bathrooms are small....like almost unable to turn.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Maxime. The hotel was easy to find, the staff was welcoming and pleasant to chat with.
The path along the River, just across the street, is excellent for running walking and biking.
We would definitely return to this property.

Overall we had a lovely stay here but guests should know that the “river view” is blocked by trees in the summer, so it’s not worth paying extra for that! Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable. Room was a bit dark and needs new carpet. Close to old town and an easy walk from the train station so it was a good location for us. Enjoyed many walks along the river.

The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly during our entire stay. Their recommendations for restaurants were spot on. Agathe, Camille and Anais made us feel at home at all times. The room was clean. Breakfast was very good too. Can’t complain.
