Juma Amazon Lodge

Everything from the moment we arrived and even the trip to the lodge was perfection. The food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was phenomenal. The staff were so warm and welcoming. The river bungalow with our private hammock looking out to the Amazon river was amazing. All of these things were perfect, but our guide, Leon, is what made the experience at Juma truly unforgettable. His expertise, his stories, his passion for the forest, and his goal of making our Amazon dreams come true is what we will remember most of our stay. Leon went above and beyond for us and in the process we’ve made some lifelong connections with our tour group and him. When we travel back into the Amazon or Brazil we wouldn’t have anyone other than him as our guide. If you are considering staying at Juma, don’t think about it, just book it. The food, immersive atmosphere, and just everything about it will give you the Amazon rainforest trip of your dreams. We especially loved the jungle hike and caiman tour.

Top class service from Juma group. Rooms are rustic but spacious, clean and beautifully kept. Bathrooms also with their powerful walk in showers, so welcome to return to. The hammock on the balcony almost as comfortable as the beds inside, which are so comfortable! The food is exquisite, every meal favoursome and delicious. Then there’s the freshly made breads and fruit smoothies. Delicious. The chef visits regularly and his team are charming and attentive. We spent the week cared for by guide Anny, who also joined us for meals. She was a delight to spend time with. Informative, great company, relaxed and a great sense of humour. On tours and treks we were joined by Helby, also very well informed, attentive and funny. They were a real double act and made our week. The treks are a good distance and pace. The highlight of my week was the canoe trip.

Amazing experience with the family. Juma lodge is situated far into the Juma river, just under three hours from Manaus with boat, van and boat again. The trip into the Amazon itself is an adventure, and Juma lodge provided for everything. Really professional and safe. At Juma, they have 17 bungalows on stilts, with stilted walkways in between. You walk in the ‘’air’’, and pending on the season there is water up to the walkways. The river can differentiate 15 m in height based on the season. In January, the water was low but still a very beautiful place. The swimming pool is just amazing, a must experience. Our english speaking guide, Nelson, is absolutely fantastic. He learned us alot, and he really was amazing with the kids. All the activities was great, and we found alot of animals together with Nelson. This is definitely the best lodge, and I cannot recommend it enough. We are Norwegians, and have lived in Beazil for two years. If coming back to Amazon, we will for sure stay here again. Food was also 10/10.

We had the most incredible experience at Juma Lodge, made possible by the caring and thoughtful staff. The lodge itself is beautiful and very well set up, but the people are really what makes this place special. From the moment we arrived, Daniel and the team were so welcoming and eager to make sure we had the best experience possible in the Amazon. We could not have asked for better guides to help us get some true Amazon experiences, Nelson and "Sargento". Nelson made sure we were prepared for each adventure and his passion for sharing life in the Amazon made each excursion really special. Sargento made sure we all got to our excursions safely by boat and made sure nobody fell behind on our jungle walks. Sargento was a really great teacher, showing lots of patience in teaching me to make a fan out of palm leaves and my husband how to climb the acai tree. They were also really fun, and funny, gentlemen. We had a blast exploring with them and getting to know them. The final thing that stands out to me about Juma is the food. The food was really good, and well balanced to provide the energy needed for the jungle hikes. Everyone went above and beyond to help my husband navigate his nut allergy. We highly recommend Juma Amazon Lodge to anyone considering a trip to the Amazon.

We chose Juma because of the activities and excursions offered but the food and amenities and the service all EXCEEDED our expectations.
