or this location have to be fake. My wife and I are in The Austin/Round Rock region as she has cancer and is receiving treatment in the area. We were scheduled to stay for 10 days until our airbnb became available. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we knew the seedy place was not for us. The front parking lot was not bad but in the back lot it had trash and debris throughout. We did a search of available lodging in the area and we could not find anything available. My wife was feeling awful due to the the radiation and chemotherapy treatment so we decided to give it a try. What a big mistake. The lobby wasn't too bad and did not reveal what a dump the Uptown Suites is. We had to pay for a week in advance. As we walked into the room we immediately looked at the vinyl plank flooring separating from the sub flooring. It was repaired with duct tape and had edges which were sharp and sticking up away from the sub flooring. You could easily cut your foot by walking across the floor. My wife has low white cell counts due to her cancer treatment and is very susceptible to infection. I have never in my life seen flooring in a hotel room secured with duct tape. The bathroom also had peeling paint. We then received a notice that we had to vacate the building the following day as it was getting sprayed for bugs. They apparently have a bug problem too. With my wife receiving cancer treatment we did not think it was a good idea to stay at the hotel and be exposed to chemicals designed to kill bugs and decided to check out in the morning. There are also people above which sounded like they were jumping up and down on the floor above us at 2AM. When we checked out we asked for a refund for the additional six nights we paid for the Woman at the front desk told us we signed a no refund document and it was against company policy to give a refund. She could not provide a copy of the no refund document we signed when requested. She told us she would speak to her manager, Monica to see if due to the circumstances she would try to help us secure a refund. We called Monica many times and left messages multiple times and Monica never returned any of our calls. I tried to the contact corporate office with no success. No one answers the phone, returns calls or emails. The companies business model is to give a substandard product with no ability to discuss any issues with upper management. They simply do not care. Our room at The Uptown suites was and absolute dump! Buyer beware.
