I have been to many spa/resorts like Lake Austin (Miraval, Canyon Ranch, etc). This was a big disappointment for many reasons: 1. Price-essentially paid $1000/night in a SHARED room and it didn’t feel luxurious. Staff didn’t cater to us (in fact it was often difficult to reach the front desk by phone). My friends who were in their own room paid the same exact rate as me and my friend who each paid $3000 EACH in a shared room. 2. Didn’t have hot water x >4 hours. Had to dress/undress x 2 before issue was resolved….only concession was a bottle of “we can offer you a middle-tier” wine at dinner. 3. Self-serve coffee in the morning (they have a coffee machine similar to ones you see at car dealerships). You have to make your own coffee from the machine. They do not offer custom coffees/teas. 4. Food was “mid”. Pork tenderloin special was not tender and we were not given a knife to cut it-had to use the butter knife to cut into it-not easy. Soft serve machine was “broken” one of three days we were there. My friend was charged for a mocktail (no alcohol, but she had to pay and additional $16 for it) plus, extra 23% service fee added (to it and everything else). 5. Got charged for a service that should have been included in my “spa allowance” because I got the service on the day of checkout and “the systems sometimes get crossed”….CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS AFTER CHECK-OUT FOR UNAUTHORIZED ADDITIONAL CHARGES!!!! I had to call to get them to credit me back (my friend had to do the same!)

My Swedish massage was amazing!! Karinna took such care and tenderness with m massage!! She kept checking in and was very open to conversation as per my questions. Was amazing to let me relax when that was the vibe! She went WAY over time, offering care and concern to my tease areas! Overall, Karinna was 5 out of 5!

I really enjoyed my hydrofacial with Francis. She was extremely kind and attentive, made me feel comfortable and relaxed, and helped me understand the treatment. I really saw the results of my treatment and felt restored by the calming and peaceful environment of the spa in general.

Such a wonderful place to recharge and relax. Lovely people running the resort . A shout out to Denis who went the extra mile to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for. We went out of season so it was very quiet which made it even more peaceful.

Lake Austin Spa We purchased a day package with lunch. Everyone was very nice and attentive. You fell pampered and relaxed as soon as you enter the lobby. I selected the Aroma Swedish Massage and the Coconut-Mango Body Bliss treatments. Misty did both of my treatments. She is fantastic! Our lunch was ok. Mine was supposed to come with a side salad, but I never got it. Also if you order any alcoholic beverages look at the menu and show the wait staff exactly what you want or you will end up with the most expensive drink. They also have a “service charge” for the drink. It wasn’t clear on the menu today. I’ll definitely go back for the spa treatments.

I wish I could give Lake Austin Spa resort 5 stars but, unfortunately, my experience at the Spa was very disappointing. I’ve waited 5 weeks for the spa to reach out to me after politely sharing my experience and haven’t heard from anyone. The steam room and dry sauna were broken the entire weekend, resulting in one very crowded jacuzzi as the only spa amenity available. I walked out of my facial extremely confused. The woman who did my facial told me she avoided massage because of an area she thought was a spider bite and recommended I put aloe vera on it. I followed up with both my dermatologist and my regular Aesthetician immediately following that appointment who both said there is a 0% chance I had a spider bite. I hate to be harsh - but there is a level of expectation that comes with spending over $1,000/nightly and hundreds of dollars on a single treatment. I would have been better off spending half as much on a facial at any regular day spa. Now the resort - it is a lovely experience. The rooms are gorgeous and the food is delicious. There’s a good variety of fitness classes and the instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. I definitely would not recommend the spa but the resort is lovely if you need a quiet weekend getaway.

Lake Austin Spa Resort was great! The grounds are beautiful and serene. We were in a lake front room with a nice sitting area overlooking the lake. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was very friendly and informal with many people eating in their robes. It didn't feel crowded. The spa grounds are very nice and treatments were good. Our favorite activities were the aqua bootcamp and stretching classes. I got the best treatment of any kind ever from Monica who does aqua myofascial stretching treatment. It was painful but then I felt really good afterwards. I highly recommend the treatment.

Lake Austin is a great retreat if you are looking for a luxury wellness resort in a nice setting that's quaint, peaceful and low-key with all amenities and activities of a larger resort like Miraval and Canyon Ranch. It's small enough that you can walk to the dining room, pool, classes within a few minutes, but spread out enough with such a great river view and much more activities than a Mi Amo or that you get a feeling you're at a spacious retreat. I've been twice and would definitely go again. Pros: - Dining: The food was great, consistently high-quality meals with lots of options and loved being able to eat outside overlooking river. I am very picky and they fulfilled special requests no questions asked to swap out ingredients and different preparation. It would be great if they rotated the breakfast and dinner menus especially if you stay there longer but they do have nightly dinner specials, and menus have large variety for hotel that size. Would also like pick-up snack options mid-morning and mid-afternoon besides cookies since it's all-inclusive and you are doing a lot of activities. Spa has a huge buffet but if you don't want to go over there they could put their home-made granola bars besides just fruit outside dining room. - Class Variety: Great amount of options for smaller resort in terms of fitness classes, wellness lectures, hikes and night activities. Lots of water activities since it's right on river. - Pools: 2 huge indoor and outdoor pools. Heated indoor pool barn is amazing with great relaxing spa music that i used almost daily when classes were not in session. - Spa: Spa was nice size with everything you'd expect separately for men/women - pools, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, seating areas and all the services I got (facial, massages, hydro mud circuit) were great. Food spread during day great. - Rooms: Typical garden rooms are nice size, with large bathrooms, large tub, great pillows, huge smart televisions, and decent closet space. You can't hear your neighbors or people walking on the path right outside. Rooms cleaned thoroughly daily. - Staff: Nick and Denis at the front desk with operations are amazing, and attempted to fulfill my individual requests and were always checking in with you and seeing how they can help. Zoey and Jimmy servers that were attentive and learned my likes and dislikes. Onyx at Spa was very knowledgeable and kind and helped accommodate my needs. Front desk staff and class instructors very friendly. - Location: It's about 50minutes from the Austin airport since it's on the river. It has amazing views and lovely to look at while dining or resting on hammock during day. Well-maintained property for the most part. - Gym: Great gym with great lake view with decent amount of upper and lower body machines, free weights, TRX, cardio equipment with tvs and lots of stretching and workout space. Only disappointment was that the reclining bike wasn't working during my stay. Cons: - Food Service: A lot of tim
