The Line Austin

What a terrible experience all around. First, I booked a "lake side" view and got a view of the next building. Second, I was charged $28 a day plus tax for "Amenities". When I called to ask what those where some ignorant chick said "It's like paddle boarding, scooters, you know, every guest gets charged for it", and then she hung up on me. I didn't use the mini fridge, and they didn't even have basic muffins or juice for breakfast so the amenities are BS. The decor is marketing as some hip, eclectic "vide" but its just and old building. The elevator smelled disgusting, and the carpet was so worn out I don't think they've ever changed it.

The room's AC was inconsistent, difficult to find the right temperature. The room we had was right behind the elevators so it was hard to sleep hearing them going nonstop til 3am. The bathroom was also extremely dark and hard to even see yourself in the mirror.

Everything is good except it doesn’t offer free water

Hotel is a bit tired. Ceilings are very low, and it appears that to accommodate for this, all the furniture in our room was very low/short. The mattress was terrible; lumpy and poor quality. Bathroom ceiling was even lower than main room and had a utilities access panel that looked like it was midway through falling out. Water pressure was great. Bathroom was very dark (so much that there was a printed sign on how to request a lighted mirror). Carpets are somewhat stained throughout the building, and the paint is chipping/worn in many areas. Ceiling treatment in the lobby, restaurant, and bar area looks like an inexpensive way to gloss over a needed repair. Staff were all warm and welcoming. Bar had one of the best cocktails I've had. We didn't try the food there. Great location to go watch the bats emerge from the bridge. We travel often. Overall, the Line was 2-3 star. Won't be adding this one to our rotation list.

Great location and helpful stay. Good roof top bar over looking the river. Good food, coffee. Excellent stay.

The taco shop downstairs was a perfect night cap and the room service breakfast was a 10/10! 🙌

Nice hotel. Way overpriced though. Rooms were wierd. Had a suite...uncomfortable couch...wide open wasted space. No bureau. Bed was 12" off the ground. Just not comfortable. Staff was excellent. Pool was great. The mexican take out resturant and bar were awesome. Just not my cup of tea for a room. A plain old king bed room wood have been great.

This is my third stay at The Line Hotel. I has a very cool and urban vibe! The location, the pool and the service are all great! The bar, P6, and the restaurant, Veracruz, on site are awesome. Best breakfast (or any time of day) tacos and smoothies are the best!

For the cost I did not feel they lived up to the expectations and they need to take their beds off the floor way too low.
