I stayed Wednesday - Saturday in March 2022 Overall I was disappointed by my experience at this location. My stay was uncomfortable, inconvenient, and not a good value for the cost. I won’t stay here in the future and wouldn’t recommend it to frequent travelers. Pros - Decent location, not really in walking distance of restaurants / stores but a short drive away - Good room size (compared to many Marriott properties) - Comfortable bed and appeared clean Cons - Many rooms face inward (you see the bar area from your window) so not much natural light in half the rooms - Turn down service has to specifically requested, currently not standard - First 2 nights the AC didn’t work. It was uncomfortably warm in my room. I told 3 different people including the manager who said he would have it fixed or move my room. When I returned from work the person at the desk wasn’t aware of it at all but finally offered to move my room. - In the first room the toilet paper holder was broken and the tv remote didn’t work - Both room water pressure wasn’t good - Not the hotels fault but because of the odd layout of the highways it’s difficult for ride shares to access, I had several drivers drop my ride when they saw where I was located General info - Bar open till 10 - They had a buffet style breakfast bar though I didn’t use it - There’s a pool the closes at 10 and a average fitness center. I toured them both but didn’t use either. Here’s a little info about me for context to help you determine if my experience can be helpful to your needs: -I’m in my mid 30’s and travel a fair amount for work and occasionally for vacations -I use the overall statement in my first sentence to give my general feeling toward a property and group them into “Impressed”, “Satisfied”, or “Disappointed”. -I used to be a loyal to Marriott brands but always felt their standard rooms felt really cramped so switched to Hilton in early 2022. I haven’t been completely won over at this point but so far willing to stick with Hilton for the foreseeable future

Front Desk Shante was a delight!! EVERYTHING a guest needed to know about the hotel and surrounding eateries was right there! I showed up road weary and was greeted with a beaming smile, fantastic disposition, and unchallenged professionalism. The room was clean, quiet, loaded with the necessary amenities and downright comfortable. The proximity to the Capital was a huge plus for a Monday morning commute!!

The hotel has amazing service. Loved the fact that they have live music in the restaurant/bar. It was great for my teenage daughter to enjoy it with us. Tanya at the restaurant was outstanding. She was so busy but was kind and efficient. The hotel location is great. You have all kinds of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Of course, we loved the late-night visit to the Cheesecake factory. The room was clean, well-decorated and huge compared to other hotels.

Marriott seems to be on the decline. This property looks nice from the photos. Only so so in person. First night the airconditioner made a high pitched whine and had to move rooms. Was put on the first floor only to find my room inundated with black crickets. Had to put a towel on the floor to cover the crack between the floor and the front door to try to keep them coming in. When I moved the towel out of the way in the morning to leave the room the towel Was full of black crickets. The other thing is that I will continue to post lowered reviews on properties that do not offer daily housekeeping post covid. The rates at hotels are the same pre covid but have saved money on operational costs by using Covid or labor shortages as a continuous reason. If that’s the case then pass the savings to the customer because we are not getting the same services provided for the same money. Lastly it’s a Marriott thing. Because I don’t agree with this housekeeping change I’ve been staying at other brands for the first time in over 15 years. Cheaper hotels like the Hampton Inn offer daily house keeping as do a number of other hotels. It’s becoming a primary reason on how i pick my hotels going forward. I stayed in the Hampton inn for 4 days immediately following this hotel stay and had housekeeping. This made 34 nights I have stayed in hilton brands this year due to housekeeping policies. If hotels don’t offer housekeeping then they’re just a glorified airbnb. Service gets my money and I’m almost done with this brand for trimming its housekeeping staff and still charging the same high prices they used to when we had housekeeping service.

This is my go to when I want to stay in NW Austin. Plenty of free parking in hotel lot. Easy friendly check in. Drink coupons for free happy hour! Beautiful indoor atrium. Elevators could be a little faster or they need to always run both. Rooms are spacious and have a separate living area , kitchenette with small refrigerator, coffee service, and microwave. Bathtubs need some TLC attention or need to be replaced with walk-in showers. Terrific complimentary made to order breakfast is my favorite in Austin. This is my home away from home.

I texted in advance that I'd like our two rooms to be adjacent. It was acknowledged and I was told it was arranged. On arrival, the staff said I only had a single room and it took research to find the other reservation. So then they had to change the location of room #1 so it would be next to a second similar one. The staff was very pleasant through all this, but for me to show with my group and be told ”no, you only have one room” didn't start things right. Regarding the rooms: one smelled so bad that an occupant stuffed a hand towel soaked in cologne into the AC vent. The other was nicknamed ”the Colombo room” because of its multiple large red stains in the middle of the carpet. The in-room coffee maker is small and flimsy. Breakfast is very mediocre with few options, and located in one building - possibly not the one you're in - so, even in inclement weather, you'll need to walk over. The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times, though. I suspect that the smell/carpet stains are issues with management and not the individual employees. At this time, I can't recommend this Hyatt.
