This was our second time staying here. We stayed in the top suite. Felt like it’s gone down hill. Never any staff about in the bar had to constantly go and get someone. Don’t know how to make Irish coffee cream was mixed all into the coffee, never been to a hotel that can’t make an Irish coffee. Dinner was a major disappointment completely overpriced and hardly any food. £9 for a bite size sticky toffee pudding. Mould all over bread at breakfast. Staff not that friendly either. Room was roasting, windows always left open. Bathroom taps were dirty and bath needed cleaned properly. Atmosphere was non existent and not like you can go and walk to somewhere as it’s in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn’t go back for the price, there’s much nicer places for less money. Couldn’t even complain as the receptionist was covering and didn’t even know how to check us out. Overall not a good experience

Went for pur anniversary and advised before my arrival......no complimentary upgrade despite the hotel being empty. No treat in my room just a card saying happy anniversary. Decor very outdated. Headboards pattern all worn. Went for the evening meal had chicken goujons to start which were overcooked and dry as a bone. I had the beef for main which was nice however my wife had the lamb which was like leather. They were very offended when we offered the feedback but did discount it ever so slightly. Not impressed at all definitely wouldn't go back

My family bought a gift voucher for my 60th birthday and paid £100 for it. After lots of family illness I finally went to use my voucher but discovered that it had expired in 2023. I know the hotel aren't legally obliged to honour a voucher which is out of date but as a goodwill voucher most do. I was disappointed to hear from Carrick House that they wouldn't. Just be aware before handing over your money to them.

Attended a wedding here & overall it was very good. The leisure centre building looks like a prison block, not aesthetically pleasing or inviting on arrival. Thankfully the gardens at the rear of the hotel are much prettier. The conservatory was beautiful & we had afternoon tea & a drinks reception which were excellent. All was going very well until the main meal. I chose the beef & got one measly slice which was all fatty. I couldn’t eat it. However our table was offered extra portions of the turkey & ham if we wanted it. Service was outstanding. There was a nice buffet provided in the evening & this was tasty. We found soft drinks very expensive though. We didn’t stay the night as again, the rooms are too expensive. We rented a stunning Air BnB literally a few minutes from the hotel, within walking distance. We had a good day all in all.

I visited the Spa and was EXTREMELY disappointed in the standard of the facilities. The sauna looks like it has never been cleaned, filthy glass doors and the tiles on the ground of it are covered in black dirt, especially under the benches. I was honestly in shock at this and would have taken photos to prove the extent only that I had left my phone in the locker. The steam room smells stale, almost like stale sweat. I couldn’t wait to get a shower after this experience only to find that the showers are also dirty and that the shampoo and conditioner had been watered down as they were almost empty to the point they were completely liquid. Not what you expect when you are paying for a spa experience. The staff are friendly which was nice but I would not return.

Stayed here for a wedding, the place was lovely and the staff very nice, the only downside was being charged double the price of any other Thursday just because a wedding was on, got an early check in and late check out for a total of £229, the room was definitely not worth that amount, for that reason I certainly wouldn’t go back or recommend the place.
