We had a 2 night stay recently in Wineport Lodge and we will definitely go back. The whole place is vibrating with customer service, nothing is too much trouble. From beginning to end, absolutely brilliant. The rooms are lovely, but we opted to stay on the boat, which is permanently moored. The boat sleeps 6, but we were on our own and found it to be very cosy. Everything was so clean, so very well equipped. One could easily do self-catering here, but with the fab food in the lodge, I wouldn't bother. The boat is a bit expensive, perhaps better if sharing and splitting the cost. We enjoyed having it to ourselves. The weather was bad, so we sat up on deck with a glass of wine and relaxed. Previously mentioned, the food is excellent, can't fault it at all. Staff are all well trained and this feeds through to the excellent customer service. We were late for breakfast one day and it was not a problem, we were escorted to a table and served. No one tried to rush us out even though they were setting up for lunch. We would highly recommend it - we definitely going back some time. Thank you everyone Linda & John

Stunning location, stopped here on the way home from Galway back to Longford. Was a gorgeous day and the views were incredible. Sadly they don’t serve any alcohol unless you have a main meal and we’d just eaten so we just had a quick soft drink. Staff explained their licence regulations but sad we couldn’t take full advantage. Looked very busy and would love to return. Can’t comment on rooms as didn’t stay.

What a spot, due to a mix up on our plans we booked here last minute. Not only were they delighted to see us but phoned to check what time we would like dinner. Gave us a lovely glass of prosecco on arrival and showed us to our room. Super comfy beds and great big rain head shower. Patio door on to your own private little terrace. Now we paid a little more than the other hotel we expected to stay at but they warranted the extra money. Arrival is a little off putting, back of hotel a little tired, needs the timbers stained and rubbish outside and some cracked glass in windows....I was a little apprehensive. The front is a totally different story, serene views of the lake and exceptional food and service...out dinner was amazing...they made a fuss over my birthday. Everyone stopped to chat without it seeming forced or pretentious . Have I mentioned the food ..the food!! Wow!! The menu seems very small but they will change or amend any items listed to suit you so don't be afraid to ask...I got cod with a herb crust, was only listed on a sharing platter but no issue swapping it for the normal salmon listed dish. Partner got steak...I tried it, fabulous. Whiskey, pepper sauce. Starters I had a baba ganush style dish with flatbreads, he had soup. Both lovely but ps. order some breads it didn't come with soup. Desserts were awesome. Service attentive, friendly and not forced. Breakfast was good but not as good....service a little worse than the exceptional standard night before but we were down early and as some of the more experienced staff arrived things improved...we had pancakes ..they were amazing. Overall I was so pleasantly surprised, it's not cheap but then again you get what you pay for! Your staff here need to be commended even the youngsters seem to be trained on the art of pleasant conversation which is such a rarity now. Happy to recommend, great wine list, cosy log fires...I could stay forever!!

I've been wanting to visit wineport Lodge for as long as I can remember. We visited Glasson Lakehouse only a few weeks ago and I stood gazing across the lake thinking 'so close yet so far'. I booked last minute. Not realising there wasn't a thermal suite or communal pool or that I needed to book into the infinity pool and hot tub or that they didn't have a gym. So I was genuinely concerned when I did book and tried to get a hot tub slot and found it a bit tough to get something suitable.. But.. Wineport has a secret weapon that makes up for it. Read on.. We made the stressful 80 minute journey (thanks to Sunday drivers) and were due to land 15 minutes after the hot tub slot. I was panicking about missing the slot and it ruining a fantastic night away, especially considering the price I paid. At 1.10 I get a phonecall from wineport to say they were expecting me, I explained about the stressful traffic and I was told not to worry, take my time, they'd slide the slot out. The relief. But it didn't stop there.. We pulled up and parked. The sun was lacerating the lake. People were outside drinking on this beautiful sunny march day. It felt so nice. We walked in and were met by a gentleman, welcome to wineport, you've brought the sunshine with you, thank you. The friendliness, the professionalism. No check in, but a mention of my name and we were brought straight to the room by a friendly receptionist. How refreshing. Bags dropped, with a complimentary glass of prosecco in hand, we sontered to the hot tub to an exceptionally friendly 'Shane', full of chats and fantastic service. The minute the bubbles stopped he was over to assist and top up the bubbles. 30 minutes felt like 5. We wrapped up, headed into the pontoons' little cosy cabin to sit in front of the fire. Shane didn't hesitate to get some cocktails in our hands, full of recommendations and they didn't disappoint! We both sat and said 'This is service. This is what you want when you go away. The staff are schooled to a high degree. The professionalism, friendliness and service was second to none, from everyone'. Back inside, to the room, out to the balcony to have a beer on the lakeside with our complimentary crisps, cookie and chocolate. Beautiful. The personalised letter on the table just shows the detail they go to here. Every guest is their personal guest. The rooms are stunning, the bed comfy, bedding cosy, bathroom large and nicely decorated. That evening we headed to town for food and a pint. I came back and almost regretted not eating on site because the food looked and smelled sensational. We sat by the fire in the lobby, chatted and had a pint. How nice of an evening. We retired and slept well. Up early the next morning, we had breakfast to the room at no additional charge, that's unheard of, what a touch! The breakfast was stunning. The quality of the sausages, egg, bacon and pudding was honestly top notch. Side of croissants and muffin with tea, toast, coffee and jui

Absolutly stunning, one of the nicest stays we have had in a while. From check in, every single member of staff including the resident cat welcomed us with such a high level of service. Special mention for Lei? and Andre and the bar staff. They surprised us with balloons for our celebration after I mentioned it in passing when we were shown our room... such attention to detail! The food was delicious. Our room was beautiful with views over the lake and we took advantage of the room service breakfast on our balcony. We will 100 percent be back and I'm only sad we had to leave so soon!!

If you’re like me and search trip advisor using (gluten free, coeliac, gf, allergy) I have you covered! Food is amazing. Great combination of knowledgeable wait staff and cautious kitchen staff. During a 3 night stay we only ate here. Fantastic options. Full Irish at breakfast replaced regular sausage and pudding with I’m guessing gf Clonakilty brand. Their gf bread I believe is the livewell brand which is always toasted! Great news for anyone who’s had a gf sandwich crumble away to nothing! Highly recommend the bruschetta. Changes daily and is phenomenal!! You can eat the vast majority of the menu which is extensive. In terms of the stay itself, it has the once in a lifetime feel about. We came for a spa getaway. After all was said and done we did the hot tub out on the lake. Absolute bliss. Type of experience where you say to yourself “I can’t believe this is in Ireland”. You’ll end up booking it again during your stay, it is that good. Recommend doing a cold plunge into the lake, very easy to get in and out. Staff are outstanding! Very warm, caring, great banter and have an ability to make a celebration extra special without interference. They were out of this world. Price is very fair, booking direct on their website gave us a discount and we also had a small blue book voucher. You won’t want to leave once here and the restaurant/bar prices are very fair.

We decided to use our Blue Book Vouchers to pay towards a 2 night B&B and 1 dinner package in November as high season is very expensive here. On arrival we were greeted by staff and offered a free glass of Prosecco while we waited for our room. Every staff member we encountered over the two days was proactive in greeting us and offering help. We were upgraded to a lovely, spacious suite with private balcony and a fantastic view on to the lake. The bed was a super-king and very comfortable with quality linen. The food was good but not anything special. We didn't use the spa or hot tubs but they seemed popular. Overall I would commend the staff highly for service and friendliness and the views from the bar, restaurant and bedrooms are tranquil and beautiful. (Tip - we noticed the price of our package decreased as I checked it over a few days)
